Roo for as Great as he is, is both our biggest asset and detriment. Whilst Roo is there, the players will look to him to kick the goals, take the mark, be the bail out guy, be the game changer, with out Roo We are finally starting to see others stand up
Agree to a large extent. That's why we need him on a wing or dragging the best backman out of the back 50.

Later in the year when Paddy has had 8 or 9 VFL games into him, and Membrey needs a spell, I would love to see us go with Roo, Bruce and Paddy on the field for a game. Have Roo play down the flank, then go back to CHF when Bruce is in the ruck, or swings back. Having the option to take out a taller defender for a runner, and play Bruce back, could be handy.
If we consider that we have been looking to Port for an idea of our future gameplan, last year they were positioning Westhoff on the edge of their own 50 at times, to cut off attacks and quickly release their pack of small runners on the counter. That flexibility (and that of Ryder now this year) is what frees up the rest of them to play such gut-burning footy, and I think we have a little bit of that coming through.

It's interesting to note that, for all the talk about tall forwards often being high draft picks, Josh Bruce was NO PICK AT ALL. Forget pick #1 - he's even better! He's a pick #0!
