I don't doubt the club is trying, but Robertson has made it clear he is open to moving to Victoria, where he will find at least one middle of the pack suitor, probably more (think Carlton, Melbourne, Essendon).

All trump the prospect of starting fresh at rock bottom - especially when your main card to play is 'I couldn't crack the best but I can probably play for the rest'.

Good antedote to explain away the decision at time, everyone looks good.

Either that happened or the guy figured he's just played in a GF, and wanted to back himself in to keep his spot and continue to improve at Brisbane (who were always keen to retain him). Which is fair enough.

Doesn't matter now anyway, he's an Eagle, any further belly aching risks engaging brizkent.
