Devon Smith with Kennedy as a package, we are probably looking at something around pick 15 to get the job done or something equal to that in a future round pick.
Last year to get Marchbank and Pickett we gave up a future 1st round pick we got off Geelong in an earlier deal. Devon Smith is going to increase the price on that I would think.
Probably unders for both, I'd have thought. Each worth a late first/early second, not sure 15 for both gets it done.
Kennedy + smith > marchbank + pickett.Your future round pick you gave us would have been around pick 16 in this coming draft.
When we on traded it to GWS to get Marchbank and Pickett we also got given back a pick around 34 for this coming draft, so in a sense Marchbank and Pickett was traded for less than a pick 16 value.
These are same two clubs involved so it will be around the ballpark.

Kennedy + smith > marchbank + pickett.
So i think 15 for both is unders. Having said that it wont surprise me if it ends up happening, maybe with some extra sweeteners added somewhere
Pickett was seen as a steak knives inclusion given his 2 knee recos.
GWS rates Kennedy and Smith a lot higher than they did Pickett.

We shall see and your knowledge of Pickett is very sketchy it seems.
Ahern is the guy with knee recos.

Pickett was closer to the salary/list space dump after the AFL rule change last season - guy on a very decent wage in 2017, hadn't shown a heap, alleged attitude issues, foot injury of unknown severity (Ahern was the 2x knee injuries), to the point where Marchbank was probably cheaper because of the inclusion of Pickett rather than any increase in the value.
Yep, my bad.
Still, was clear Pickett was not rated very highly by GWS.
The pair of them had played something like 5 total games in 4 combined years, hadn't they?
he was out of contract
they knew the salary squeeze was well and truly on
I think he kind of does play as an outside mid. He's always named as a half forward, and typically has played a role like an old school running half forward.Personally I had my eye on him for a good 2 to 3 years as someone would love to have play for our club.
When GWS started out Dev Smith and Dylan Shiel just stood out as mid types that could kick a classy goal or two. Dev been playing as a high half forward and Shiel got the midfield role.
Have no doubt Devon Smith can become a gun mid if given lots of time in there.
Not sure that is correct but even if it was, they needed salary reduction in readiness for re-signing guys like Hopper and Kelly this year. I am quite happy Devon Smith has popped out from the squeeze this year. I been keen for over 12 months to get him or Hopper.Pickett was under contract.
Ned Guy has just been named list manager at Collingwood.
The same Ned Guy that manages Smith?
I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up at the Pies now.
Buckley has ties to him through coaching at Jnr level as well and he's apparently very close with Taylor Adams.
