Brisbanes decision to delist Adcock reminds me of Melbournes decision to delist McDonald a few years ago. Dumb decision by a dumb club. McDonald went on to play some decent footy and an important role in a young GWS side. I think Adcock could do similar for us. I'm not convinced we're actually interested however, given our decision and reasons for delisting Dwyer.

I doubt we are interested in him either, but Brisbane are idiots for de-listing him.
I would take him on at a year to year basis because of the experience factor.
He does not have to be in best 22 and take the place of a kid.
However, spots should not be gifted and if he is in best 22 he gets a game.
If this draft is shallow like they say, why then punt on a potential list clogger when you can have a ready made 200 game experienced player for a couple of years.

Was 2013 considered a "weak draft?".
I see all four of our players from that draft being best 22 next year, all 4 being massive parts of our next premiership tilt and 3 of those 4 being parts of our backline for the next 10-12 seasons.

Adcock was Captain of Lions 2 years ago. Dwyer was never a Captain

Pick 10 is no longer with us but we upgraded him with pick 7 from that draft who will be best 22 in future :)
Oxley was a rookie promotion as well from that draft.

No but Dwyer mentioned in an interview that he was delisted because he didn't fit the age profile that the club wanted (I paraphrase there). So it would seem curious that if that is true, we would then go and recruit someone of Adcocks age. It doesn't stack up.

Dwyer was De-Listed Pre-Trade Period.

Adcock could also be a Coach

Was that before we lost Freeman, Kennedy, Seedsman departed & Karnezis retired?
Maybe we jumped the gun on Dwyer.
Or maybe, being polite during exit interview.

Wright is/was one of the few delisted players I would have been happy to see us pick up. He's still only 25 and too good a player to not be on an AFL list.

If we are to pick up a mature-age player or two I'd probably prefer untried/rarely tried state league types, then again they wouldn't be DFA's so that thought belongs in another thread!

Is the FA part really necessary? Just call them delisted, or potatoes.

Well, Hine aiming for a senior list of 38 & mentioned we will use 3 live picks in the draft 27, 66 & 77.
If that's the case, then no DFA in his sight.
