Was holding off doing transmog until I had more stuff unlocked but it finally got the better of me. It doesn't show up well in the screenshot but there are actually some glowy blue and sparkly gold parts which sort of looks like the angels in the high heavens. Sort of fits the lightning spec theme.

Is the Sorcerer class any good?

I don’t really wanna go Barbarian.

It's versatile. Currently I'm very close combat, jump in, freeze stuff then explode it with lightning balls. Though I'm just grinding out the last bit of rep for my final skill point and going to build into chain a chain lightning build. Hopefully fire gets a buff in the future because it seems like 99% of end game builds are focused around either lightning for pure damage or ice for crowd control. Fire abilities seem mostly resigned to something called enchantment slots.

I'm seeing plenty of barbs around so they must be doing OK. If I were to list the order of class popularity as I'm personally experiencing seeing them around in the world it would probably be:

1. Necro
2. Sorc
3. Barb
4. Druid

(daylight)

distant 5. Rogue

I begrudgingly went Barb for the sake of my group and have ended up loving it.

I never thought of linking this before but then realised it might be useful to some. You'll find heaps of build guides all over the internet and YouTube, but Icy Veins has been a fantastic resource for years now for WoW and and Diablo 3 and they have a section for Diablo 4 as well. They have levelling guides as well as end game builds that also describe the damage rotations and stuff.

Mate, this was super helpful thanks very much for this. Spent about half hour reading over it. made a few tweeks and got the codex I needed and BOOM, all of a sudden OP as ****.

This game rocks, anyone else on ps5 ??

Pretty sure it's cross platform if you add peoples Battlenet :)

Just finished the (phenomenal) Act II boss fight - level 31 Zookeeper Druid. Respecced after trying gainfully with the Bear and getting my arse handed to me by the first couple of bosses.

Tossing up spending some time on Dungeons/Strongholds or pushing ahead with the campaign - amazing that both feel like satisfying, viable options. Did my first Legion event last night with about 10 other randoms and that was great fun.

Barring a couple of minor lag issues, it's 5/5 for me so far.

I just finished act three and brother I promise it just keeps getting better.

Don't forget statues of Lilith which massively boost your stats if you start collecting them all. Also getting renown in each area will give you extra stat points to help your builds

I know I've said it, others have said it, but have to say it again. This is awesome. Some of the campaign bosses are superb and as much as I'm loving running around doing side quests, main story, random things I find to keep getting side tracked with, I can't stop thinking about getting to end game which is where the meat and potatoes will be. Kehjistan is probably my favourite region. The snakey part in Act IV is probably the only meh part I've come across so far (it's the most recent story part I'm up to) but mostly because I was itching to just get killing and ticking off objectives on my map again. Besides that even the story has been awesome which is something I've never really concerned myself with before in a Diablo game.

Yeah i’am getting way too sidetracked with strongholds, dungeons and other random quests to even think about the main story.
Recon I spent over an hour just trying to unlock the whole map.

Question, once you unlock a codex does that apply to all characters?

Yep, account wide.

However next month when season 1 starts, if you choose to start a seasonal character it will start completely from scratch. This won't affect your current character or any other character you have. Then at the end of the season your seasonal characters, stash etc are migrated to your main lot of characters.

Never played one of these games but reading this thread has me excited about it.

Just a couple of questions:

Do I need to have played the previous ones to play this one?
Can you play through this with 2 players?

You can jump straight in. There are some returning characters but for a game like this it doesn't matter. Jump in and start killing demons. It's also even more awesome with more players too.

The story and lore is derived from Medieval Catholic belief, so is familiar enough by virtue of prevalence in pop culture, so most people in the West can pick it up (even though it's set in its own world). Basically, you're fighting the forces of Hell. This one does have a primary antagonist who is a little more nuanced, though.

I started in World Tier 2, but now that I'm level 30 I'm finding the grind to get a little bit much. My character feels weaker than it did at level 5. Playing as a Necromancer and cruising around with my squad of skeletons.
Should I drop down to World Tier 1? Is WT2 worth the effort?

Some say yes because it's more engaging but it depends on how you want to play. I've always played Diablo games in terms of rewards and XP per min so I'm playing on WT1. If you're struggling and dying a lot then the XP gains will be slower. I'm level 51 with only a couple skill points left to earn from renown and then will bump it up to WT2 because I've got pretty decent gear and that's only to grind out paragon points a bit faster.

This. WT1 to get through the story and to a healthy level then scale up.

I was struggling for a while till I used one of the build guides posed above, then went straight back to t2 no issues, a few Simple tweeks and a codex made my character about 10x more efficient. I would go check them out.

On a side note that tyrant king brol was a mother ****er, took me a good 30 min to beat his ass

I've never really played the Diablo series except for like 20 minutes of 3.

Sell me.

I'm not a Diablo diehard either. But have played more than 20 mins of a previous game.

It's magnificent. Visually stunning, cutscenes are phenomenal, world is alive at every turn I'm making sure I'm not getting set upon, multiple ways to play too. I'm play a necromancer, my buddy is a hack and slash rogue, another mate is playing a druid (which looks ****ing sick by the way)

Do it.
