Multiplat Diablo 4

Lacks the grittiness of 1 and 2. That was my problem with 3. Looks too cartoony now

Where's the forebodingness now? Doesn't exist

See you guys in a few years for the next update

Really lacklustre cinematics.. didn't hype me up one bit. Plus the quality of it actually seems to have gone backwards since the D3 one, even the cinematic for WOTLK was better than this one. Concerning

very interested. 1 and 2 absolute classics. 3 i didn't really care for tbh. hopefully its not too far off
im not interested in the 2 remake either

The music and the graphics tell me it's made specifically for Generation Z

Not a fan of the direction at all

Not surprised though, it's just an extension of D3 which I thought was pretty abhorrent

Looks good. I like that it's cross platform so I don't need a new PC to play with the missus. Diablo 3 was pretty much the only game we've ever played together (she ain't a gamer).

I've been playing since 6am and am only level 10... Crashed a few times and then a 60-90 min queue. I have enjoyed it though so far and I think it looks great. My PC is quite old now, it runs the game but it gets choppy at times. 45 mins to go on this queue.

Played through the "Act 1" campaign that was available and I'm pretty impressed/excited overall.

  • Plot and vibe is a lot darker: much more in line with II than III. Some definite Hellraiser vibes from some of Lilith's cutscenes and a couple of the quests.
  • Levelling combines the best parts of II and III - scope to specialise and invest in specific skills and builds from Two, but with the flexibility and ability to respec without it being cripplingly expensive.
  • Might be a consequence of too much post-game farming with max level, geared up characters in 3, but the combat and some of the dungeons felt a lot more intense. No cheesing your way through.
  • Graphics and effects were pretty speccy (even on console)
  • The shared world worked well for me - the random groupings for the big open world events and battles held up pretty well.

Still think I'll main Druid in the full game, but the Sorcerer was great fun.

With open beta this weekend, anyone with a 3080ti should be cautious. Not sure how wide spread it is but more and more articles are starting to pop up.

I've played most of the day when I was only going to check it out. Wasn't vibing with rogue originally but once I got shadow imbuement that change. Might look up some builds once the beta ends in preparation for release. I think still another day to go on beta so if I get a chance tomorrow night I might give sorcerer a go. I don't want to default back to barb first time because that's what I normally do.

Even the story is working for me. While Diablo games have always been about the game loop and loot pinata the story has always been just there to get you from A to B. So far the story in 4 is a little more involved and some of the side quests are really messed up. I was dubious that they could pull off Diablo 4 after Immortal but I think they're going to absolutely nail it.
