Find that hard to believe when your profile says you are 22 and he is about 28, you must have the wrong bloke buddy!
LOL @ U/15 gripe. I think you will be struggling to put a good list together of juniors who played at the one club right through, and of those who did, another list of those who continued onto the junior's senior affiliate.
Having said that, the majority of those who have completed the above mentioned, are usually the fantastic blokes around a club. The blokes who hold the footy club right up there in their priority list. The blokes that make not only you but your partner/family/friends feel welcome when you attend your footy club. You know the blokes i am talking about. I know the clubs i have been a part of, have these blokes involved. And from reading these posts, and listening to fellow clubpeople, i am certain that the clubs i dont know too much about have these guys involved as well.
Then on the contrary, there are always a couple of 'questionable' types involved in clubs, that most clubs would be happy to sign an open clearance for. Unfortunetly open clearances dont exist for those 'questionable' supporters.

Force - Good to see things are looking bright for the future (hopefully long-term) of the Wats. I know of most of the commitee down there, but not all. I do hope that this time round, the Wats can get their club foundation spot-on, and whatever success that they achieve on-field will not fade in the subsequent years following.
Remember it wasn't too many footy seasons ago that the Wats played in a Granny. Perhaps they will now follow in the footsteps of the team they lost to that year. Then again, maybe they dont want to ?!?!?!?
I can only imagine what the bubbling atmosphere must be like round the place at the minute.

Well done to Heidelberg for being the ones who started the ball rolling. If they hadn't applied for a move to the Eastern League the whole investigation into the running of the dvfl would never have taken place. We would have continued to cop the incompetence that has taken place over the last five years with the comp being driven further into the ground. Now the opportunity is there for the dvfl to return to their great heights. The majority of the clubs were quick to sink the boots into Heidelberg, but clearly now their action have been vindicated. :thumbsu:

Bit rich giving Heidelberg the credit
This audit by football vic was always going to happen regardless of Heidelbergs submissions. footy vic announced more than two years ago that the DVFL was the next league to be investigated after it had finished investigating the league they were currently investigatigating.
The Heidelberg submission certainly highlighted the issues much more clearly to footy vic than had ever been done before and Heidelberg should be given full credit for that, but as for being the instigator of the whole process, it was always going to happen this year and you can ask anyone in footy vic that for confirmation.
but well done to Heidelberg for giving everyone a rocket.
Now lets see if Heidelbergs proposed move to the efl because of "incompetence" is granted as footy vic will not see themselves as incompetent.

As for the people who have been alleged of wrongdoing, personally I am not a vindictive person, I don`t condone what they have done but I don`t wish them any ill feeling, forgiveness is far better than hate. Lets get on with it and hopefully plenty of rain is not far away and we support our clubs and the League.

Personally I am not vindicitive either .. but if they have misappropriated (stolen) funds... it's inexcusable, they should cop whatever is coming to them.

No, i'm not sure that you are from mont, You probably live in Greensborough.

However, you certainly seem to have a soft spot for Monty, not too dissimilar to the Wet spot that J&B has for them. LOL.

the biggest rumour ive heard is that flloydy received a pay out of 90k.
one i didnt approve of was that of child porno stuff found, hang your head in shame whoever posted that one.
if an audit does show misappropriation of money why the pay out?
the biggest question on everybodies lips would have to be, how many & for how long has this been going on.

13 grounds needed for 1st & 2nd div games to go ahead, currently only 10 allocated, with a stipulation on the amount of time spent on ground(3 hrs) game day only, starting to think that season 07 is going to be a testy one for all & sundry.

until next time.

More holes appearing at Bundoora. Spoke to Matt Brown at Plenty during the week and he has walked away from footy. Now there is a kid who is well respected by most players and coaches in the league with the exception of his own. Not only the loss of a very good player (BOG in seconds GF) but a class kid.

I played for two years under Marc's dad Vito Ventura at Eltham Juniors. We had an unbelievable team and won two premierships back-to-back (u/15's & u/17's). The only problem was Vito was the worst coach ever along with his side kick marc who was pretty ordinary too. He realised that no one liked him so took his two sons (Marc and Dave) to Mill Park and coached that team the next year into the grand final. Only thing was we destroyed them in the grand final to take our third straight.

The one thing more fulfilling than that was beating the undefeated Monty in our second granfinal.

Just a bit of pointless trivia for you.

Cheers,

Although a lot of people don't like the size, our ground (Lower Plenty) is in great condition. Could play a game on it tomorrow if needed!!!

Thats massive news, the corruption that has been going on for years has finally been uncovered for all to see. By these fossils being forced to resign it can only mean good things for the future of the Diamond valley league!!

Some good points there Brutal, but if there has been criminal activities, then charges should be pressed. A Board of Management will be good, just like other local leagues, but it will bring additional costs to all clubs.
Wholeheartedly agree, criminal charges should be laid and all those who have been there for all this time should hand back there Life Memberships and never be allowed to participate in the running of a sporting organisation again. As for increased costs, the E.D.F.L and E.F.L run with a Board of Management paying substantially more in wages than the D.V.F.L and there participation costs are comparable, so I don`t see a need for increased costs to the clubs.

If they've got the cash to do so, the league should pursue Floyd through the courts for every last cent he stole. I don't care if he's ill or not, that's money that's come from clubs, from the hard work of volunteers, from junior parents, from sponsors, from the people that support the comp and its players week in, week out. And that c u n t stole it.

No sympathy for the man whatsoever. Return it to the league and the clubs.

I understand this angle may become whitewashed in the expected flurry of posts RE : DVFL meeting last night. Although i can't help but wonder just who may be upset and dissapointed that the DVFL committe has been shown the door. Over the years there has been much talk about conspiracy theories relating to everything from bias umpiring in finals to which club will host finals games, and also why we have our League Presentaion at certain venues - and everything inbetween. Up until now it has all been heresay. Nothing proven, yet quite abit alledged. All previous conspiracy theories died in time, mainly due to people believing such theories would never be allowed to happen. Thinking that if such theoires did exist, they would need to be overseen and performed with the knowledge of the DVFL commitee. We put our trust in them so therefore we scuttled most consp theories. Well, well, well. Now that our security blanket has been taken away from us - That being 'We trust the DVFL commitee to do all that is right' where does it leave us? Will it now open up a huge Pandora's Box, re-surfacing all those conspiracy theories we put to bed years ago? Floyddy and co seem to have been driven by the evil $$dollar. If they were alledgedlly corrupt in financials, it wouldnt be too hard to lace their pockets for 'favours'.
I realise such a topic doesn't gain much. And we should be concentrating upon supporting the new intrem board. But it is such a juicy topic that i couldnt resist.
Again i pose the question - Who, or for that matter, which clubs may be upset that the DVFL commitee has been shown the door?
And secondary - In time, what is going to come out - and from whom?

I agree BW, only problem is that Floyd has nothing. I've been told floyd has lost all the dv money gambling and his home accounts are in the same way.

Not sure if it is 100% but my source is adamant.

No point in spending more League/club money in legal costs and ending up with nothing in return
Only winner will be the lawyers

I've heard Floydy has a property up on the Murray somewhere valued at 400 g. If thats true then there is no need for lawyers or sueing it is simply a police matter where the league makes an application for compensation and ALL of Floyds assetts are seized and sold at auction to recoup any lost funds. All work would be done by police under confiscation of profits laws at no expense to the league.

I don’t know enough about fraud legislation to know if that is possible – but I will take Pheonix’s word. If is possible then that should definitely happen.

I have received further information via our delegate (as will all Mont members via letter from the club) explaining the depth of this rort.

To say that it stinks is an understatement

Stay tuned to the outcome of the special AGM.

Herald Sun has just got hold of the story, only a week late:

CLUBS from a major Melbourne football league will meet tonight to discuss financial irregularities uncovered in an internal audit.
Diamond Valley Football League president Roy Ward yesterday confirmed there was a "problem" that was being investigated.

Mr Ward said there were financial issues involving the use of thousands of dollars and the league had lost huge sums that were the subject of rumours.

"The problem is being addressed. Action will be taken," he said.

A senior league official resigned recently because of ill health.

Mark Ventura is only 26 Force, he was a year below me at school.
You sure about that boss? Im 24 and he was at least 3 or 4 years above me at school. This must be the biggest bigfooty topic at the moment! who gives a toss about the dvfooty board demise! What is Marc "ace" Ventura's age?
