Waddo,

Hurstbridge U19's played Lower Plenty on the weekend and lost by about 6 or 7 goals. They were sitting 2nd and had beaten Lower previous time they played. Lower now 2nd and Hurstbridge 3rd. They didnt have a bench and had injured players who had to stay on the ground.
They were shoty due to a number of 19's playing seniors. Will play finals as they are 3 games clear of 5th.
They also havent been helped by the fact that their ground is being redone which means that they have been using a temporary ground at the Diamond Valley Tech. This ground has been out of action for a few weeks due to its condition. Last weekends match was actually a Hurstbridge Home game but played at Lower.
cheers bearfan, ill definately go to you for results from now on!! seems my interest in the u 19's for the DFVL has sparked a bit of chit-chat through the thread, but bearfan, whats the news on rainer haycraft? is he breakin into the seniors at all? its not too great that the boys have to play at diamo tech.. if ya cant tell me any info bout rainer can anyone fill me in?

Well You challenged me GYTM, You Are old fashioned, and dare I say it, You are very STUPID. !!!!

You may say things how you see them, and that is fair enuff, but for F...sake take your Lalor cloured glasses off for a moment and look at it from the real world.

I know the bloke you referred to #60 from Eltham very well, and he simply would not do that sort of thing. He would throw himself backwards into a pack to take a mark, he would put his body on the line to help a teammate, he might niggle or even harrass an opponent, but he would never ever spit on someone. That accusation my freind, is ****e made up to try and defend the undefendable - Unprovoked belting of a Bloke 120meters from the play.

Wake up to yourself, Violence is not the way to settle things. Beating someone on scoreboard is acceptable, and so too is being able to walk away and proudly hold your head high (even in defeat) is a much better way to do it. I doubt that the Lalor bloke involved in this incident could ever do that!

I think judging a man by his bravery, integrity, honesty and commitment to his team mates speaks volumes, but being a weak C... who belts blokes is deplorable.

Footy is for the tough minded, not those that think they are tough because that belt people from behind.:)
No Leroy Miller, its you that is actually stupid.

To get on here and profess to all and sundry that your players and your club are a bunch of choir boys and actually expect that people believe it, shows how intellectually inept you really are. To start to make enemies that you don’t even know exist though is probably as stupid as it gets….

Making the statement “unprovoked belting of a bloke 120m from the play” just proves what a bunch of lying little laggers you are down there. The incident actually happened in play when both players contested the footy, but you weren’t to know that… Your fat a s s was either sitting on the pine, or slinking around deep in a forward pocket at the other end of the ground, 150M FROM THE INCIDENT. I doubt very much you even got your jumping castle-like frame within 30m of the pill, and from what I saw of the early game, you were probably one of OUR better players. :D

As a self-proclaimed esteemed committee member, you get on here and pump up your club to all those who will listen and expect them to believe the crap you post on here. I know we at Lalor are not perfect, never have been and never will be. I admit at times I can be biased. But at least I am honest and don’t go exaggerating the truth. I am proud to admit that I’m Lalor through and through, as we are known to be staunch both on and off the field. We have a great rapport with most opposition clubs and their players and share a mutual respect with them that we have both earnt as fierce competitors over many years. Your mob are quickly becoming known as squealing schoolgirls, who are trying to deep throat their way to success… and not just in our own competition either. That’s not the kind of reputation you would want of your club is it? Bad luck mate, you guys are quickly earning it.

So Leroy I implore you to keep talking your s h i t about my club. I dare ya to keep making your snide remarks about us being snipers and being soft. Because every dog has their day, and yours is quickly approaching. I will not hesitate to show you in no uncertain terms, just how soft we are Leroy. There is no nice way to label a team soft, and your post was passed around… and that’s the kind of thing that motivates people, believe me. Gotta watch what you say these days Leroy, just might come back to bite you on the a s s.

And one last suggestion if I may… change your username to Lardass or Pasta-ass. If you played footy half as good as you obviously snack on fast food, you would’ve been a bloody champion. :D

See you upstairs.

Okay, what about some decent footy talk. A few suggestions:

If Heidelberg decide to leave, their choice – good bye. The Bloods stay in Div 1, we promote 1st, 2nd & 3rd from Div 2 and make it 12 teams in Div 1. We go from a top 4 to a top 6 Finals System. We incorporate a staggered draw, the same that is currently in place in Div 2, where the higher you finish the harder the draw you have next season. We get more footy finals, better revenues, more players playing finals, more happy supporters. Great for the game. That would mean sides like Diamond Creek, West Preston would get the opportunity to play finals this year in Div 1. All of a sudden every side in Div 1 has a chance of winning 6 or 7 games and are not just playing for relegation stakes but a chance for finals.

In Div 2 they would go to 13 teams, flick anyone who is not financial, and go to 12 teams. We would have 2 Divisions with exactly the same set up going forward. Sides like Watsonia, Kinglake and Thomastown get to play finals footy, great for everyone.

Just on Revenues – With the extra finals, meaning more volume, bring the ticket price down to $5.00 and start to get the big crowds through the door to the footy again like the DVFL used to get. More cattle through the door means canteen sales and alcohol sales up, which goes directly to the clubs bottom line. Clubs are happier and wealthier.

Offer a club like Epping the opportunity to host every Friday Night M, the match of the round, each club gets one opportunity on the big stage. The DVFL gets the gate takings, Epping pay $250 a game catering rights and they then control the canteen and alcohol sales at the ground, good money spinner for them. The DVFL co-ordinate with the council to upgrade the lights another big plus for them. With the $20,000 over the season the DVFL make over the gate, and the $4,500 from catering rights we pay each club a dividend of $1,000 for playing on the Friday night.

Any comments?

Got some good ideas there, especially Friday night games. I think I'd favour three divisions of eight teams though, with a top four finals series. I think the current top six final system that operates in division 2 is a pretty ordinary system!

Yeh i've seen young Caddy play a fair bit. He's a gun and reckon he'll be a real chance for afl in a couple of years. He's good size n real good skills. He will be one 2 look out for!

Matchwinner, I agree about three divisions of eight teams. It is logical and gives more sides a chance to be successful and make the finals. The EFL has a great system with no more than 11 sides having played in any of their divisions in recent years.

The problem though is clubs who feel tarred by a "third division" brush, silly but true. What do they want - success or remaining consistently out of touch of the Division 2 finals?

Having final 6's or 8's as is the way in a number of leagues is a bit over the top and should be no more than 5. The Ballarat League has a final 6 for a ten team league - utter b.s.!

I can tell you about Rainer. He has played 1 game for their seniors against Greensborough didnt do much but the conditions didnt suit him. He has been in the best many times for the 19's. He will probly stay in the 19's for the rest of the season because without him their midfield isnt much chop with Gibson playing in the 1's at the current time.

fri night would be pretty god i reckon, out 19's played epping 2 weeks ago and the new lights at creek are unreal could see them from miles away, shouldn't just be to epping to host there would be a few grounds that have good lighting that could host games epping, creek and a few grounds in div 2 already host fri night games in the 19's a fair bit like macleod, wallan

ive seen two bridge 19 games this season, against boro and lower, both earlier, haycroft goes quite well and his coach(close mate of mine)rates him well.pretty sure i saw his name in the 2s goal kicking from sat,not sure what the go is,could be work.imo the slime will beat both come finals, too many skilled kids, seemed pretty well drilled and played for each other.

what if we have 9 teams in each of three(need another team)divs,a bye instead of the split round and everyone have the queens b/day w/end off.play 2 19s games on a friday night at either mont/lower or hied/w hied.get more sunday games, ive got a feeling friday senior games could lead to more crowd trouble.people ive talked to in d4 ammos are not seeing it as tarred, rather a stepping stone to better things, just depends how full or empty your glass is

Stop all this **** about three divisions.Lets get rid of the rabble that lingers in second division ,stop letting more clubs in before we end up at boonie doon and get rid of the smurfs that run this comp.Someone stand up and take control .The Valley used to be big and exciting now it is full of people whinging and saying how we dont have the money to compete.that is lot of **** and people or clubs use it as an excuse.I agree promote 19,s footy but maybe change it to 18,s becuase if you are any good and have a go most 19,s should be playing seniors. This league needs some help and there are some good ideas around but most are to busy Talking themselves up on this thread.

Look out Leigh, the big bad Lalor boys are gonna show you how tough they are!

Tell me GYTM, are you not just proving the thug nature of the Lalor FC by threatening physical harm upon someone for giving an opinion on your precious boys?

Also, I would like to know exactly which particular clubs in the DVFL you have a great rapport with and which of them has any respect for your club?

It was mature of you to resort to bagging somone based on physical apearance as well, you've done well and shown your true colours.

As for any reputaion that our respective clubs are gaining or already have for that matter, I think that the one you have bestowed upon Eltham is the one used by meatheads like yourself to feel tough. Lalors reputation is and has been well deserved for years and that is of a club that despite having some great footballers and good teams over the years has always relied on thug tactics to get them over the line. It is your clubs defining characteristic.

Football is a physical sport and most of what happens on the field should stay there but there are certain incidents that occur from time to time ( or in Lalors history, a little more than that) that I would have no regrets in "squeeling" till the cows come home. I do not play for Eltham but I support anyone who tells the truth in regards to serious on feild incidents that are occuring all to frequently in the DVFL. If more action was taken by both players and officials in this league regarding violent on field incidents, then things would be in better shape than they are today.

After saying all that i do actually think that much of what you say on this forum is valid and entertaining to read, just not when it comes to the Lalor FC!

Who do you think you are Joosha !
You do not need to get on here and slag our club !
Lalor have always been hated because they have been VERY SUCCESSFUL in the past fifteen years!!!
You do not have to be Einstein to know that
MOST(Not All) clubs hate the Bloods but as a supporter I love that !!!
How about ALL PARTIES just move on and in future we chat about footy.
No one wins by bagging each club and each other !!!!!!!!!!
