I went to Dick Smith to make a purchase. When I asked whether I got a members discount the attendant said he had received an email about a discount but there was no backup so no. The item then crashed my computer and does not work properly. I could have gone to Kmart. wtf?

Just bought a notebook from DSE which was advertised on special at $999 at Good guys and $1082 at JB Hifi.

List price at DSE was $862, best price was $839 and when I said I was a Richmond member after that got it for $818. With a $100 cash back on top ended up being a profitable evening.

Getting back on topic....after spending the last few days looking for a cheap end surround sound for Xmas...last night after reading this thread I jumped online to the Dick Smith website to see if they had something. I had been around to the usual places..Harvey,Good Guys, Myer, Tandy, Retro...so Dick has his home brand advertised for around $50. I am only after something that will see me through until I go the whole hog and it will go with the TV/Playstation to the spare room for the kids game centre system in a couple of years.

I get down to the shop though and they have $156 on the ticket...a quick, 'whats up with that' to the sales guy and he checks out back on the 'puter, and comes back and quickly throws the display ticket over the back shelf and says 'its all yours then'.

Wasn't the friendliest chappy, but I got my deal through!

Hey all,

I picked up an IPOD classic on Saturday for $305 as advertised in the AGM financial statement.

I had asked a number of stores if there was a blanket 10% off for Tig's member's and all the stores had said yes and then something about a flyer that was sent out to members but I found the ad in the AGM doco and was satisfied with the result.
