Watched the first half of the VFL, Dick is a long way off resuming senior football.

On a number of occasions he was not confident over head, was even hesitant to take an over head mark. Tackling which has been his trade mark, was also lacking particularly using that left arm.

Just an observation, i suppose it is understandable i just hope gets over the mental scarring...

First game back, I wouldn't judge him too much on it. He seemed to get through ok. He'll better for the run & will improve over the coming weeks.

No real problems today, his touch looked off, which is to be expected, but he tackled a few times, once very hard, so that's not a concern.

He has never been a great over head mark anyway, with those bony arms of his, he is another chest marker.

I'd say, if he improves week by week, he will be playing Seniors by the Melbourne game, or 2 weeks later against the Swans.'

Good first showing after basically missing 6 months of football work.

When I had an ankle reco when I was about 16, going back to footy was the hardest thing I did. You are constantly trying to favour a certain part of your body after surgery like that, and he's going to take time to understand that it can take some serious punishment, just like his other shoulder.

Took me a good 3 months to get used to it, but I'm not a professional athlete like him.
