Not the 5 - 2 win rate so much as the plethora of kids coming through, Goldsack looks a monty for selection this week after BOG in the magoos and even Stanley is showing something now with Cook and Wellingham pressing

Dick Toovey & Cox emerged out of the blue and Pendles, H Shaw and Thomas have cemented their rep as future champions

Brown Reid and Dawes will take a little longer being big men but look to have all the attributes primarily freakish speed for their size

I was very skeptical at the start of the year but these kids have come out of nowhere

Are we seeing Eddie's grand plan for a Man U type franchise emerging? You have to get the off field infrastructure right before you get success on the field and he has certainly done that, players suddenly WANT to come to Collingwood (ie: the 3 NSW rookies).. has the dynasty begun?...

If so it has been a quiet coup that has taken me by surprise

i think you are right on all counts! The quality of youngsters coming through is absolutely amazing, hats off to eddy and his team. mick is coaching well and i think if cloke learns to kick we will be very damaging!

Probably the exciting thing is we don't have struggling experienced players in the VFL pushing for selection they are all untried or relatively untried youngsters. If someone last year told me we would be playing well with youngsters in the team, I would think you meant our 2 top 10 draft picks in Brown and Reid were getting a game due to injury or were going great guns or someone like Davies or Iles had solidified their spot in the team and not that Toovey, Cox and Dick were playing good enough to be in the 22. Especially Cox, apart from some good games late last year he didn't look much chop last year.

After this week in the VFL, it might be hard to keep Goldsack down much longer - He's killing the VFL.

Then again, we might just keep him down there so he can win the Liston

Ive openly been the most pesimistic supporter on this board,

but as of now i'm more excited than Big Kev in a Balinese clothes shop.

the kids look very exciting,

please don't be setting me up for another big fall collingwood.

I've got to hand it to the recruiting staff, they look as though they've done a brilliant job the last couple of years.

If Stanley could become a player for us, what a tremendous bonus that would be! And our use of the rookie list has suddenly become fantastic, looking at Cox, O'Brien, Maxwell and before too long Wellingham and Clarke.
