did anyone who was at the G see a white wagon with 07 - 08 back to back premiers Geelong painted on both sides???? lol. Another thing, I've never seen such a big backlash from the "composed" Geelong supporters, my mates and i were happily walking to Richmond station after the game with smiles all round and we copped a few "f*** you's" from a few toothless supporters.

Yes, only wished I had bothered to stop and take a happy snap. An older white Fairlane or LTD or something similiar I think.

Did not have any probs with any cats supporters though. I thought most where very good and stayed for the medal presentation. Would have been very very hard thing to do.

Agreed.

Those that left is somewhat understandable, would have been shattered.

But well done to those that stayed. Builds character.

I heard a lot of idiotic comments from both groups of supporters. Can't tar everyone with the same brush.

There was a guy in yesterdays Geelong Addy. He had his Geelong premiers 07 tat on his arms and already added 08 below it. All i could do was laugh after the game thinking of this pork chop.

THAT IS SO FUNNY! but very frustrating, but that's the thing, nothing is certain! Many Geelong supporters i believe were very ahead of themselves.

yeah that is true, but it's hard not to get ahead of yourself with such a perfect season (only to be disapointed on the last day)...having grown up in geelong and baracking for them since the early 90's its been very dispointing times over the years with the grand final losses. I think this time round the supporters had finally started believing in the cats and had confidence in them after last year and so just believed we could win. Geelong do have a lot of bandwagon supporters though, as i guess all clubs do, as blokes i went to school with who didnt even like footy back then are now the biggest fans. Hope they all jump off the ship now though.

I blame the media for it more than anything else. They've fed the public a steady diet of unbeatable-Cats for some time. A lot of footy fans aren't able to work things out for themselves and put stock in what the idiot media tells them.`

You're right about bandwagon supporters, and the Hawks will pick up a lot of these in 2009, so standby for cockiness amongst a section of ill-informed Hawks supporters in 2009. I'd like to think it won't happen, but I know it will.

Like Clarkson said to the media straight after the game, for those who haven't seen it, it's on the DVD. He thought that we were not ready this year to take the flag, which in a way is true, we were in great form but we are still a maturing team. Fair enough we might get a few bandwagoners but true supporters know there is still alot of work to be put in next year and there is still fear ridden within us, because we know we are beatable.

I said this in another thread.

it was what clarkson said after the finals last year.

he said we were surprised to make finals, let alone win a final, and were a year ahead of where we should be.

Mike Sheehan jumped on this and said it on the couch in his usual pump up geelong campaign

Sam Newman, eat @#$% Did anyone saee HIS new number plates on TFS?? hehehe
You got what you deserved Sammy boy!!
MOST people would wait until the cup was in their hands before they went out and purchased new plates..
And wasn't Billy Brainless bitter this morning on the Sunday footy show..Couldn't happen to a better bloke Billy, you are another one that got ahead of themselves, and you had the audacity to tell JD not to get ahead of himself..Eat your words Brainless!!:D

I can see it now - the Cats supporter who got the tatt is going to be back into his local tattoist on Monday getting the 5th line added to his arm:

2008
RUNNERS-UP

See? All fixed now. Full marks for optimism.
