Right choice regarding what?

Success?
Money?
Reputation?
Legacy?

Depends on which one he values the most.

I'd say he'll have more success with the Gold Coast over the next 5-7 years than the Cats, while getting payed more for it.

If he wins a flag at the Gold Coast it will enhance his legacy.

Leaving will generally hurt his reputation as a person.

Definetly.

The Cats are whinding down, he's played in 3 grand finals for 2 premierships, won MVP's, a Brownlow. Now he's getting paid enormous amounts of money to go play in a side that could very well win a premiership in the coming years.

Did he make the right choice to join the gold coast suns????
I know you and many Geelong supporters will disagree with what has happened but before you pay out on those of us who think that it is the right choice, listen up.

There are plenty of reasons why he has signed up to play for the Gold Coast. One of them is that his brother is already up there and wanted Gary to play along side him.

So that comes into it.

Another is lifestyle change, warmer weather and better atmosphere up there.

Geelong appears to be imploding, whilst the GC is willing to pay him around 2M a year.

Moreover, he has the opportunity to become the focal point of a new franchise, and as a result, he could become a part of AFL history if he manages to achieve success with them.

Good move in my view.

Yes. Get's to play the game he loves and gets payed heaps to do so. Plus he can be the catalyst of the Sun's success which I'm sure will happen quickly in the time he is there.

Definitely. Gazza's done everything in the game short of winning a Coleman, and I think heading up the newest AFL side would be a good challenge for a player like him.

No, he made the wrong decision and will live to regret it.
Explain?

Beautiful weather, Large pay check, Chance of captaining Gold Coast, Reunited with his brother in the same team, Leadership skills will skyrocket.

Geelong fans can question loyalty, this and that. But, if you were in his position, what would you do? The money he will earn, will set Ablett and his family up for life.
