Paul Williams wanted to leave because of Buckley and no this isn't a derailment.
I loved Willo as much as the next bloke but don't forget over his last three seasons he averaged under 20 touches and less than a goal a game. He was turning 28, there was a lot of talk about a degenerative knee and the fact that he was over 500k in the hole and Sydney had a more attractive offer. A genuine case of needing a fresh start if ever there were one.

From memory both went to St.Kilda to win them a premiership, like James Manson went to Fitzroy.
From memory Francis had quite a good year at the Saints playing 19 games for the year. I think his retirement after that 1 season there was unexpected.

Loved Scooter!

What was the reason? Bad blood? I was barely a teenager when Bucks arrived so although I had a decent knowledge of the game I never heard any rumours or scuttlebut re players.
Personality thing, from memory when a Williams went to Sydney openingly said he couldn't stand to be in the same room as Bucks. Think the FIGJAM title was true, not sure though.

Two of the biggest blokes we've had, Rene Kink and Sav Rocca.

Kink was like a god to me, even though in hindsight he was just a big hairy bloke in tight shorts. Wait...

Anyway, North showed us what a mistake letting go of Sav was. To his credit he's always seemed pretty cool about it all, just seems like a really decent bloke.

Players come and go.
But to this day
Peter McKenna in a Blues jumper just doesn't sit right. Just looked all wrong.
Nope, still cant laugh about it.

Contrast. Mick mcguane who comes across as a true chatterbox, in a light blue MM jumper? That was gold in the funny stakes. He probably realised it was time to pull the pin. It would have kept him quiet.
It was his last ever game.
He was a very talented player, great skills.

Think my daughter was born roughly 9 months after his return game.

Thinking about his biceps too huh?

(Or the real mark of the year against Melbourne...)
Enjoyed his first run over his 2nd, think he got to show his athletism more as a fwd. Shame he was a bit inconsistent in front of goal.

Dem biceps were godly

One of mine is about to in Kennedy. Been a massive fan of his since Glenelg under 17's. Was stoked he landed with us as i thought he would go top 10.
If we get Howe for him it will lessen the blow
