Like they say, you learn more from a one goal loss than you do from a 10 goal win. The thing that pleased me the most from Sunday is that we now know that we can still challenge if we're behind most the day. The last 15 weeks we've been blowing teams away in the first quarter, then coasting for the rest of the game. On Sunday we showed we can hang in when good sides get a jump on us, and our fitness allowed us to come back hard at them in the final quarter.

Had to agree with Andrew Bews' column in the Addy today too. He suggested that Port Adelaide had to show all their cards in order to beat us on Sunday, whereas Geelong kept a few up its sleeve. Maybe it was a tactical ploy to rest Selwood and Ling. I heard suggestions that if Sunday was a final, those two would've played. We kept something in reserve for the next time we play Port Adelaide, when the stakes will be so much higher. :thumbsu:

I think you wanted to have a real crack at Geelong here didn't you?

You've made your statement but tried to hide it a bit by adding a question at the start.

If you think we're gona crack then just say that.

By the way, Carlton... eh
you, my friend are mistaken. I was never having a crack, there was no 'mean' or 'cracking' words, i merely wanted the opinion of some cats fans, read the whole thing, you git! I respect geelong and i certainly wanted the opinions ogf their supportes, not abuse from a touchy pussy.

I think people are being a bit hard on Walshy, I reckon it's a legitimate question and lots of people have been asking it.

Personally the loss worries me. I thought we'd beat Port but they really out-played us all day until the last 5 minutes when it looked like a miracle had happened. The outs were important but we'll be lucky if we manage to keep our best 22 fit throughout the finals. The replacements have got to step up.

The streak wasn't that big a deal to the players because they are literally taking each game in turn, not getting ahead of themselves. The loss didn't hurt us re. the ladder, home finals etc, but if it planted seeds of doubt it could be a problem.

I hope we come out and smash Brisbane, whether they are still alive in the finals or not. I want to see us hit September all guns blazing.
Thank You very much....

just go back to the Carlton board where you can discuss your pathetic statements with other morons
Should take your own advice mate. Walshy had a legitimate point. People, including so called experts in the media, were saying we had to lose a game before the finals, and he was just asking us for our opinion on it. Simple as that.

Walsh- you just said that geelong is a good team, then why do you keep saying that you hope geelong choke and that you think geelong wont win the Grand Final. So make your mind up!
