Not sure if Alan Didak at Adelaide will help us. It will probably ruin us.
I noticed that Alan Didak this year has lost a bit of his kicking power, and dosen't seem the same as he was in his better years such as 2003, maybe it was related to that knee surgery to he had last year. Look, losing Tarrant made no difference to the Pies, they will finish at least 6th after finishing 7th last year. I knew with Chris Tarrant going to Freo would spell disaster for the Dockers. Travis Cloke has filled that gap for Tarrant quite well and other guys such as Rusling and Thomas have also stepped up so they'll always be a challenge if Rocca has a bad game. Pies will be unstoppable if they can kick straighter in front of goal. Hmm scary!
His best year was last year (2006), and then he had a reco, which is why he's struggling this year.
In all honesty, Tarrant was a lazy, under-achieving bum who'd always choke on big occasions.
Didak, despite his off-field stuff, is a very hard worker, and an exceptional finals performer.
To put it into context, I think the closest player value-wise at Adelaide is Johncock. Obviously since Didak is the one who allegedly wants to leave, you'd never give up Johncock (nor should you), but they've had a pretty similar couple of years. Both were fantastic in 2006 (best at their position arguably), and both have struggled in 2007 due to injury.
So when looking at trade scenarios, consider what you'd want us to give up if Johncock wanted to move to Collingwood - and I suggest 2 fringe players and a no.10 pick wouldn't excite you any more than it does me
