Are you suggesting it transcends genres? Because whilst that is true, that doesn't preclude it from a classification as a Christmas movie. It's a Christmas movie as much as it is an action film, it just so happens that it's in the upper echelon of both.

One could argue that a Christmas movie is defined as a movie you would only/mostly watch at Christmas time... ie. It's A Wonderful Life, Elf, Home Alone, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation to name a few.

Throughout December, I've set myself the goal of re-watching every Die Hard movie. I've watched 1, 3, 4, and 5. Not number 2. But I will have to... before Christmas.

So that would be a yes from me.
