Actually I'd say raw fruit and simple leafy greens (lettuce/baby spinach) is about as good as it gets for easy digestion. Clean fuel for the body. Easy to digest and full of goodness.

I ate nothing but raw for one straight month, a couple years back, felt amazing - full of energy, sprung out of bed in the mornings, skin was glowing, digestive system was loving it and lost some weight too (not that I was over-weight to start with).
A raw food diet might be good at clearing out toxins, which could be why you felt so good. However it's actually advised by Eastern AND Western medicine that cooked foods are better for your digestion.

so you werent able to eat enough of the right things to sustain your body's needs?

also, why did you stop?

hmmm, good question

(ps. love your sig :))

Defo was sustained.

Bodies needs were fully met.

It defo gave my body a great chance to detox at an awesome level - some might say the normal level.

I stopped because I wanted to. I still eat plenty of raw fruits and salads but I also like cooked food.

It was only one month, so i didn't lose much weight, just some, I can't remember exactly how much...

Info time!

All fruit start as a flower (grapes, capsicum, melons, berries, etc), and house a seed or seeds within its flesh when mature.

Vegetables get picked before the flower/seeding process. Like broccoli - it's picked just before the head flowers > then seeds.

Not many people know this, as not many people have gardens and grow their own food these days.

So are you Vegan just because you are making an ethical stand against how animals are treated? Or are you also doing it because you think it's a healthy way to eat or something?

Yes but livers can become sluggish and congested. Cleaning up you diet, doing a liver flush and using support for phase 2 liver detox (aka milk thistle and l-glutamine) are worth doing.

People underestimate the low level exposure of millions of toxins that we a subjected to.

You liver does alot more than detox anyway, if it's overloaded then other important functions could be compromised. Phase 1 of the liver detox breaksdown fat soluble toxins and transforming them to something that is more toxic than they originally were. Phase 2 is where substances are added to make them water soluable and safe to excrete.

Imagine phase 2 wasn't working well? You'd be in a bit of trouble because you'd have highly toxic crap in you with no way to get rid of it..

I understand there are gimmicks out there selling expensive detox programs. However the liver does well with support; clean diet, fasts, supplements to support phase 2 detox, liver flushes - which i know one you can do with ghee and castor oil - again, don't need to buy expensive liver flush.

I highly recommended Colon irrigation/ hydrotherapy rather than a detox.
Detox is just a good marketing gimmick.
I real detox is designed to eliminate parasites etc...not just cleanse the liver, the liver will cleanse itself with a proper eating habits

I totally agree with eating clean to support your liver. However, we live in a toxic world, there is no getting around this, no matter how clean your diet is. Since the industrial revolution we are exposed to low levels of abundance of toxic chemicals. It's not possible to know what effect this has on our livers and other organs as how can this be studied? Which is why I agree with supporting the liver with a good liver tonic, liver flushes and the occasional detox diet. Fasting is also great. Activated charcoal is also great.

I'm not recommending detox packages - i agree, they're gimmicks.

Chlorella claims to remove heavy toxins from the body but I haven't used it yet to confirm or deny from a personal experience, I will get a round to doing a course of Chlorella & Spiralina one day!

Our livers do all the detoxifying our body needs. Don't get scammed by detoxes.

The best detox is to get out of the way of the body. Cut the crap - eat clean, drink clean.

If ur ill or need a serious detox, do a water fast or a fresh juice fast, or just eat nothing but raw foods for a while ( I'd recommend 1 month - did me wonders).

Digestion takes a lot of the bodies energy, get out of the way of the body, let the filters get clean > feel good follows.

You're all nutbars, those pictures Ablett posted in that bullshit tweet aren't even from the same continent.

Diet propaganda at it's finest. :p
Pretty sure abletts post is meant to be a joke. Could have even been made by a sarcastic vegan.

I think that it might be time to chill a little on the targeted trolling. If people have good memories they may remember a time when they didn't appreciate being on the other side of the situation. Warnings have been issued, even the odd infraction. Please keep the forum healthy ;)

It was banter. Lighten up.

Big Cox recommending brussel sprouts was the most offensive post of the night but you left that up.
Baz, I can take the banter and I'm happy for you to involve me in anything like that, but keep people out of it who don't appreciate it. I enjoy your posting but there is a line and many feel that it has been crossed. A bully will often use a similar response to the one that you used. Take a second and lighten up.

Hi guys
Never posted on this thread - only pretty new to this site and didn't really know where to post this, but seeing its diet/nutrition I was wondering what you would make of this.
Its a guy that comes on a cycling forum I'm on sometimes and this recent you tube was attached to a new list update.
