Lard has no nutritional benefit and neither does fried bacon really but a shitload of fat, salt, oil, heart cloggers.
False. How will your body absorb nutrients without fat? Most nutrients are only absorbed and transported by fat. The only unhealthy fats are those pressed from corn, soy, canola and other vegetables that are highly processed and bleached. inflammation causes heart disease, saturated fat decreases inflammation...Your argument is flawed and has no scientific back up.

Go on the Macca's diet for a month, you will get plenty of saturated fat, along with massive weight gain, cholesterol problems, high blood pressure etc etc.

Sugar and carbs my friend. Never said they are good for you. Neither is eating over maintenance calories unless bulking. Also Macca's use vegetable oil to fry and is hardly a convincing company to use to argue for healthy eating in general.

To compare apples with apples (or apples with butter...lol) you at least need to use an equally unflattering photo of Nigella sans the professional make-up.

Minus the expression she still looks good.
She still looks younger than the other lady, agreed.

I wasn't really making a judgement call on that, more pointing out the ridiculousness of comparing a glamour shot of a celeb in full make-up to a photo of a normal woman.

I mean, I could make myself a 10 if I was allowed to use makeup to cheat.*

*Ok, maybe a 6

Although it may appear but I ain't a Vegan basher & respect their choices but don't like when they push meat is unhealthy or meat eaters will die earlier.

I'm against animal cruelty as mush as any Vegan but I believe I need meat in my diet for many reasons, if there was a comparable substitute then I'd give up meat but until then I keep eating it, Infact I've gotta T-Bine in the BBQ as I type!

Well said ablett.

I was having a convo with another meat eater and he was telling me how bad the meat industry is, even the organic "humane" meat industry.

I was like, yeah but some vegetarians use make up that's been tested on animals... and he was like "yeah but they're dicks - just because they're dicks doesn't mean you should eat veal"

He then impersonated a baby calf saying "don't eat me just because your vegetarian friends are dicks"

Seriously though, totally respect vegans choices but believe a meat diet is healthier. We need to change the regulations around killing animals. He explained it to me and it's horrific. Farmers should be able to kill their produce on site, but it's against the law unless they're eating it themselves, which means that all meat, organic or not, needs to go through a horrific abattoir process... Which is long and horrible.

I wont eat any commercial chicken because of the disgusting way they are treated. They are good and intelligent animals, it's a disgrace. But although I try to find homes for most of the any extra roosters, some I give to a friend to cull for stew. But it doesn't worry me at all because at least they have lived a good life for an animal at my place. Humans are a supposed to eat some meat, it's just part of life.

Don't forget that most vegans and vegetarians were meat eaters at one point, and talked and thought just like some of you guys.

I almost never eat pork for a similar reason, many pigs in Australia are sow-stalled... and pigs are (arguably) smarter than dogs.
Yeah but pigs aren't as cute as little Fido or Rover, so it's all good

Out of sight, out of mind.

I actually like the more sustainable forms of animal protein (camel & kangaroo are far better for the land) but they're not widely distributed yet and kangaroo isn't fatty enough so a fatty marinade/butter/olive oil is needed.

If Fish wasn't so expensive I'd eat it more often which means less meat which I don't eat as much as I once did when more involved in Bodybuilding.
I eat 6 eggs 3 X a week for an evening meal, usually after a cardio session or rest days, prefer beef for T on gym session days which is 2/3 times a week & fish on the odd day.

You would probably enjoy being my neighbour, I have 20+ hens as pets and although I don't mind the odd egg I don't eat a lot off them so give most of them away especially in spring when they lay like mad.

Yeah none of mine are laying at the moment, well apart from the 2 five year old Silkies which is kinda funny because they would be about the last chooks in the the place that I'd guess would be doing it as they generally lay bugger all at the best of times.

How do you eat your eggs?
