Brennan is a big chance to break into brisbanes side for round 1.

I think Clayton would have picked him in a microsecond if he was available at 4. Still with the kids familly all in brisbane, good luck to him and all that.

Walsh might get a game come 2005 I guess?

If you look at Brennan's profile on the Brisbane web site it says he would have been picked by the Bulldogs had he been available. He would have been a gret addition to our team imo.

Walsh is almost a year younger than Brennan so he has plenty of time yet to develop.

You can't judge 2 players that haven't played 1 game between them yet. In a 1,2, 3, 4 years time we will be able to tell whos better.
I think we have been through this already. Give Walsh a chance. We will take what we get.

Pick 50 might be a 5 time premiership player, Who knows?

I guess so. I didnt think of that. Just another reason to hate the pies.

You cant count your chickens Chops, but the consensus is that Brennan has more talent than Walsh. Terms like 'freak', and 'amazing' were being bandied around for him, while walsh gets 'promising'. Nothing against walshie, but I just reckon brennan is going to be an instant star.

Swap the names Brennan and Walsh with Fraser and Pavlich and you've just described the time of the 1999 draft.

Walsh is an absolute wild card, could be anything including nothing. He is 17, skinny as, and has been described as 'has undoubted talent but lacks intensity'. I think comparing him with Fraser at this stage of his career is probably flattering walsh.

Brennan is impressing the astute coach of the back to back premiers and looks set to play round 1 for them.

Thats pretty much why I wasn't. ;)

Fraser was also talked about as a freak, and impressed enough to play in his first season. But a few years on, who would you rather have? Him or Pavlich?

I doubt the different between pick 3 and 4 can be that great that one is an instant star and the other is isn't. I have seen Brennan and he looks good but everyone talks up their draft picks. We have Fawkner whos the next McLoed! Does it also mean that Wells and Goddard are even better than instant stars? What does it say about Salopek who was supposed to be drafted top 3?

Guys like Jakovich and Cook have heaps of talent but if you can't put it on the park what use is it?

Brennan may be great but is still raw as in the Wiz Cup v Geelong in the wet fumbled on the backline which resulted in Geelongs final goal. Being hard as it was wet but they lost the game because of it!
Brisbane also have a better list so they can play these young guys along side champions without worrying to much.

I can assure you all that no-one would have been happier if we had got Brennan than me. But lets be realistic for a second. What do you expect from Walsh and why is he being compared? He's almost a year younger and is still doing his VCE.

We are desperate for KP's but his time will come, he's only 17. We can't dump our desperation on this youngster. I'm sure next year when he can concentrate on his footy we will start to see something from him.

Comparing the 1999 'freak' Fraser with 2003 'freak' Brennan.
Sorry, just stumbled up this thread.

Fraser was #1, Pavlich was #4. Hasleby and Fiora went at #2 and #3 respectively.
