Just an update for older doggies fans.

Dimma booted 6 goals and won the Joe Grant Medal (equiv of Norm Smith) in the AFLQ Grand Final today at the Gabba when his team Southport won the premiership. It was also his last game of footy, he's finally hung up the boots.

Cheers

Dimma and his brother played for the southport sharks. He is returning to melbourne for business reasons.

Story time...

I was at dinner at Dimattina's in Lygon one night with work collegues. I had recent got a Bulldog tattoo on my ankle, and my work mates called Paul over to show him. Not my idea. I'm usually quite embarrassed by things like that. Anyway i showed him, and he told me how after they won a GF, be it night or day, he was going to get one over his heart because the Club was that special to him.

So natually enough, when the arseclown ******** muncher anal navigator ********er Peter "I demand respect, call me Mr" Rohde gave him the arse i was shattered.

Anyway, to hear that he has played in a Grand Final with a quality side, and managed to bag 6 and win BOG is magnificant. I'm really quite happy for him. I wish it was in red white and blue, but as we all know, that hasn't happened, so well done Paul.

Was always a big fan of Dimma. Whilst his blaze away nature used to frustrate me to tears, he was a very valuable player for us. What i loved most was that he embodied the fabric of what it means to follow or play for the Dogs. That love and passion he has for the club, the way he went about his game and the love for the jumper was always palpable.

Libba, Jose and Dimma in the middle always brought a smile to my face. The most hated midfield in the land and I LOVED IT!! We need a bit of a..hole back in our club!!

Makes me smile too.

Also makes me wonder how the HELL we got to a prelim 2 years running. Our up and comers have 10000000 times more polish than that crew. We just need a stopper like Libba was and it's game on.

Yeah he runs a very successful restaurant at broadbeach called Mario's in tandem with his brother. When I went there it was jammed pack seating at least 250 people. We had been to the MM races earlier this year and when dimma came over we had a chat about the dogs. Said Eade would be terrific for the club. At that stage though he wasn't to sure if he would play for southport again that year.

Possibly his brother is staying up there and paul is returning to melbourne.
