Bygone era. In Riewoldt’s book he says how happy he was to be watching 2021 GF and he had lost some desire. kmac reference to Yze’s family having just thanked Dimma was subtle but oh so pointed in his farewell speech. Clearly he lost the players to some degree after it.
I think it is hard to sustain the “celebrity coach” dynamic. Their salary is too high and affects the club’s ability to attract other good people. The coach is just part of an overall infrastructure if you want success. Not sure getting a coach needing a pay day works in modern footy
