Unfortunately he was the only spud in the Port 2004 side. We're carrying quite a few more and as you say we have too many chicken littles. DH hasn't introduced his hardness or courage in six years and he's already demonstrated in the last ten minutes of nob3 v you guys that we most likely won't have it this year
Just bc he's earned himself a two year extension doesn't mean he will be there to see the end of it
I will be happy if we fall into the 8 this year bc I think we have great holes in our list which we have failed to address
If we make finals with our list than DH deserves his extension with the list he has
Sorry TI while i agree he doesn't have the list to make top 4 and is a fair way off becoming a top contender.I think we are a top 8 chance just like about 12 14 other sides.
Entering year 7 the question for me is that good enough? Also i think he has to share a lot of blame for the state of the list and the way we play and the lack of opportunity for so many of the juniors. It is simple do we just blame Hardwick or do we look for all the culprits.I have no doubt we should be doing so much better in key areas areas, Development, Recruiting, List management, These things have not helped Hardwicks cause. How much of this do we blame hardwick for.

Imo there are many areas that need to be improved upon. That means new faces and change and that includes at board level.
The only trouble with that is people still live in the past and can not get out of their heads what happened for 28 yrs, they are fearful of change and have become ultra conservative and use words like stability and prudence as a crutch and a means to pat themselves on the back.

It really is time for all of us to seperate what constitutes on field success from off field success.
One is driven by the other. it is very hard and almost impossible now days to have on field success without the club being well run.
We have this , it is no longer about stability or propping up the whole club or being frugal. OFF FIELD we are as strong as most clubs.

ONFIELD is where we now have to be different. We need to make the seperation and start demanding excellence and success in this area..It includes the whole footy dept from footy manager to the boot studder. Those demands can only come from the top and it just has not happened.Change will not hurt us we are strong and stable what happens on field won't see us go into free fall off field.

Start demanding very good results like we have achieved off field. Setting the bar and failing to meet the height should mean sorry thanks for your efforts but we need to be better. Imo this is not happening, it has not happened for a few years now in lots of areas footy related.

My point was either you sack him now or you give him two more years.

Either one year or, even worse, a review at the end of this year is totally disruptive to the club. That's not demanding success, that's orchestrating failure.

I don't think replacing him at the end of 2015 is justified, but I'd have no problem giving him the boot at the end of the year if the club thinks there's a better option for this playing group.

I'm not too fussed with the 2 year deal to be honest. Dimma will be under no illusions that he needs to at least win a final this year to show progress - there may even be a caveat in there saying he has to do this as part of a KPI or something.

The players love him and he's shown he's a good H&A coach. Just needs to crack the finals conundrum and I think he'll be fine.

Our list isnt good enough to make a gf. We do need a rebuild. Qe can do this and still get a finals win this year. Dh needs to gift games to guys like menadue, cellis, astbury, elton, lennon etc. My biggest criticism of Dh is ill see chaplin line up rnd 1 and stay put for the rest of the year. The side will not make any ground by doing this. Dh needs to give astbury and elton the chance to either make it or fail by playing them in chaplins place.
I dont mind the clubs choice to give dimma 2 more years but he needs to give more consideration to development rather than just treading water with the same old players.

no i agree ,but i still think BH and FJ need to go this year if nothing of greatness comes about. The coach is only as good as the list so get rid of those two first and dh hopefully with the FD can step it up,but they are coming from a long way back bc of their poor list development after 6 years.
Too many holes in it.
