Could not watch the second half but saw scores at 3 quarter time and then at full time... What the **** happened.
Draft picks. That is all you have to worry about. Oh and the midfield went missing.

Geeze that Bailey Humphrey does like 1.8 really nice things a game before going missing for half an hour at a time, to think he could be going missing for us!
Bruv what. He had 18 touches, 2 goals 1, that 1 grazing the post by a bees dick and 3 goal assists. He's stuck behind Rowell, Anderson and Miller. He's the only one of their mids that can play other positions, for us he'd be a starting centre square mid getting 28 touches a game.

At a minimum he would be 800% better than Hobbs.

At 3 quarter time he had 9 touches and 3 score involvements. Non entity until the game broke open and the dam wall broke.

He’s consistently inconsistent. Which I guess is what makes him Essendon’s white whale.

This was my first game in attendance for quite a while, and the first with our three year-old. I said early on that we'd lose by 30 and I wasn't surprised or disappointed by the eventual score. We showed a lot in the first three quarters, which was nice.
So much better in person than on TV.

I enjoy watching the kids. Sure a win would have been nice but injury has forced Brad to play the kids and I’m seeing this next gen group starting to put some quality passages of play together. I’m hopeful.

Obviously some players on the list require delisting/trade. Cut the bad wood and no more perseverance with limited skill players.

Would be nice to see a regular rotation of the V captaincy. I think it would be good for player development. McGrath been there too long and the newbies need new messaging. We need a competitive person in this role who can lead and take the game on when it’s on the line. They need new role models. Or it’s lather, rinse and repeat. We risk the kids never reaching full potential.

Standouts for me today:
Kako one of the best small fwds this year.
Caddy bc reasons. He is an afl fav already. As he matures so will his game. Rising star 💫
May he will be a big part of the future. I mean 3 goals in 3 minutes. What a get! Should get rising star nom this round surely?
Duz imagine being mentored by this player. Goes and goes.
Calders injured but was good for 3 qtrs
Roberts still young but did some good things today.
Lual great first half and see what he brings next week. He should be elevated to fixed starter to get more experience. Not dropped to make way.
Merrett belongs in the centre despite the need for versatility.

Hobbs lacks composure, average kick and handball and ever worse decision maker. He has a crack but I’d rather tsatas come in for Caldwell

Yep. Think he’s got a pretty low ceiling IMO. Pressure half forward is his only chance of making it long-term. Would hope another club gets sucked in and makes us a good offer.

he's a match winner. Will be the bloke that wins it for them if they are to ever get through week 1 of the finals

Overall first three quarters were quite good considering where we're at in development and injuries. I thought we looked way more dangerous with our ball movement today. Helps having better kicks in the team like Roberts, Johnson and Clarke.

Still don't understand why guys like Martin get the ball and their first instinct is to not even look forwards, but go backwards, even when there are options head.

Plenty to like though.

Good for the most parts, bad habits crept in by the old guard. Some appalling skills still costing us.

Score probably flattered the Suns in the end but they were good all day. Lots to like from our side
A 20 point victory to them would have been a better reflection of the game imo but those red time goals bit us on the ass.

So he only exploded in a tight game to blow the opposition out of the water in the last.

He still kicked an amazing goal from 50 to get them going and was competing to a really nice standard with some great tackles. How many touches is a forward supposed to get in a team losing the territory battle?

The guy is a freak, 2nd in the comps for goal assists and would be even better in a team that could actually use him like we could. He’d be our second best forward and third best midfielder as is and he’s still 20.

This is not going to be popular but bitching about Laverde or Blackiston or the usual suspects shows people are not seeing a few more serious issues.
In the last quarter Merrett and Martin basically ball watched every time GC had the football. Have no idea what either where trying to do standing by themselves while Miller and Anderson where left free around 60 meters from goal and involved in a few of the goals.

Then we have the general clearance shit fight where nothing is clean. It is all rushed with minimal blocking and multiple times when we run into each other.

The wave run ended up killing us because our midfield basically did not cover most of the game.
They have to work harder when we do not have the ball.

It is compounded by the fact that the one bloke who is a bit switched on, Setterfield is just too slow to make a difference in open play. Does a great job in close and around stoppage but can not effect a shut down if the opposition gets in the open.
midfield 100% needs a re-fit. we've started with the flanks and wings and that's going well. mids remains to be seen.

i think zach is just trying to make some abstract point that tsatas is better

I think ZP was being sarcadtic, because we drafted Tsatas who actually is missing.

Young kids petrol tanks empty at 3QT

Again it's the more experienced players left wanting like Perkins, McGrath, Prior and 2MP who underperformed

Gotta ****** love the Caddyshack kid and May - keep them and Kako for 6-7 will BE A JOY TO WATCH

Excellent comeback by Zerrett too after a couple of not so great games - hope Jye is OK
