The Indiana indie Jagjaguwar has a pretty thorough roster, as these things go: Bon Iver, Black Mountain, Okkervil River. But now they've scored themselves a major coup: Reunited alt-rock monsters Dinosaur Jr., still comprised of the original three members of J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph, have signed with Jagjaguwar, according to the label. Dinosaur Jr. are currently putting the finishing touches on a new album and they hope to have it out this summer. Nice match, dudes.:thumbsu:

Awesome news! :D

Beyond is without a doubt one of, if not, the best "comeback" albums I've ever heard, so hopefully the new one can be just as good. Another tour would be tops as well... :thumbsu:
As far as bands that age does not weary go, Dino Jr rule the roost in that department...

When I originally heard that the J/Lou/Murph lineup was reforming (mid 05), I was working in Korea, and the second I heard they were playing Fuji Rock a few months later, I was all over those tix. It was awesome... and Sydney a year and a bit later was even moreso.

Agreed re: Beyond too... far exceeded my expectations, which were appropriately low, considering the slacker target market. :D

been on a good dose of dinosaur jnr lately with 'without a sound' and 'green mind' on rpt.
get out of this has to be one of my fav guitar songs ever.

your livingall over me:D:p
yeah great albums.

such a different sound really. more loose and sludgy. the drums aint up to the crisp quality of the 90's work but regarded as some of the best.

YLAOM..that whole album is spot on in its sound and playing

Funny this should pop up, been listening to them on vinyl for the first time today. So so good.

They never fail with album art either. Am looking forward to it. :thumbsu:

Saw them live in Adelaide during the 90's at some stage but was force fed some hydroUberskunk on the way to Thebby and can barely remember a thing. Would be great to see them with a clear head so hoping a tour coincides with the new album.

Cover looks great, but NOTHING will top the Green Mind cover. Still my all-time favourite...

Farm Tracklist:

'Pieces'
'I Want You To Know'
'Ocean In The Way'
'Plans'
'Your Weather'
'Over It'
'Friends'
'Said The People'
'There's No Here'
'See You'
'I Don't Wanna Go There'
'Imagination Blind'

June 23 release date. Should leak in the next month. Can't wait...
