Kelly's partner was arrested, questioned and released without charge insisting Kelly went for a walk and never came back. *UPDATE Kelly's partner has been charged.

Victoria Police officers looking into the disappearance of Epping mother Ju "Kelly" Zhang have issued a statement appealing for CCTV footage of two cars as part of the investigation. The cars are a 2008 Black Mazda CX9 and a white Toyota Land Cruiser.

Ms Zhang, 33, was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue, Epping, about 5:30pm on February 1. She was wearing a pink pyjama top, shorts and had bare feet. The only thing she had with her was her mobile phone. On Saturday, police said they held significant concerns for Ms Zhang, who was described as a devoted mother who would not leave her eight-year-old son alone.

Cops had no choice I think but to arrest him given he was trying to get out of the country, he looks guilty as now. It's been a while since I was at Darebin Creek, it can be a bit gnarly but if she's there they should find her I think.

Another scumbag (if guilty). What is wrong with people? I

Given police have charged him with murder then presumably he knows more than he is letting on (and why attempt to flee the country)?

Another similar situation, partner killing his wife and trying to hide.

In the news/court today.

It will be interesting if we ever get to find out how investigations led them to the landfill site the deceased victim's body was found at.

Many a cold crime case in here has speculated on possibility of the victims bodies ending up at a rubbish tip.

'Tan has pleaded not guilty to her murder.'

'Police alleged in court that Ms Zhang and Tan argued on the day she went missing about her starting a relationship with another man.

Tan allegedly became “infatuated” with Ms Zhang during their one month long relationship and had started referring to her as his “wife”.

“This argument became physical and the accused physically assaulted the deceased, causing her death and placed her body in the laundry cupboard,” the court summary reads.

Police have also accused him of tampering with CCTV footage of the scene, after hours were missing on the day of the alleged murder.

“Police believe the accused placed the deceased in a garbage bin from the home address and at 2am on February 2, the accused travelled from Epping to Heidelberg West where it is alleged he placed the garbage bin out for collection,” the summary reads.

Tan will return to court at a later date.'

'Police began a four-day search at the Wollert Waste Management Centre last week after investigations led them to the landfill site. '

It's approx. 15km (give or take a few km) and approx. 20 minute drive with little traffic from Epping to Heidelberg West.
