I have no idea what the discipline's like at the Cats today,it may be very good, but is it on this level? I was reminded this week of the change that came over the Cats in 2007,when the leadership group suspended SJ until rd6,GA was asked to train more regularly,Mooney to stop getting reported for stupid stuff and for Scarlo to get out of the pub, that plus a bit more along with a spray from Chappy round 5.And as we know the rest is history.Do we need to revisit the well?

Is there any suggestion that players are injuring themselves when drunk or regularly training hungover?

No not that I know of but the issues if any may vary,IE the way Mots came back 2016,things like the way we play after a bye raises questions with me,the way we turn up for games that look easier raise commitment issues.

The way Mots came back is an interesting one and a year one how he has came back shows something hit home...

Was he read the riot act? Or was simply having no clubs interested a kick up the arse he needed?
But aside from that it is hard to judge as we haven't had many suspended lately, or in public trouble.

I have zero doubt that our blokes get up to mischief in the off season and during the season... but they either do it out of the public eye or their minders keep things under control

So who knows

The way Hawking spits the dummy at times provoked mostly and gives away multiple silly free kicks is another one,I can't remember a runner or the skipper going to him and saying pull ya head in Tom and get back to playing the ball, and if it's discussed post game the message is not sticking.

Regarding Hawkins.. I know I give away plenty of free kicks complaining about the BS frees against him too....

Not saying he's right to spit the dummy but geez he gets the rough end of the pineapple at times..

It's laughable sometimes.
Just because he's stronger than his opponent its almost open slather for defenders to stop him.
Must be frustrating.

We need to develop a forward structure that gives him a run at the ball,at the moment we are wasting him,I want to see him crunching the dumb pricks game enough to be filling the hole in front of him.

I'd love that. Who'd wanna stand in front of him. Was it Toovey? We saw what can happen.

Im not excusing the reactions - they can be annoying and undisciplined - but when, as you correctly state, the green muppets pay push off frees against when its clearly his size that has won him the contest and not an infringement its massively frustrating for me 1600kms away that makes me throw shit at the TV - can't imagine the frustration in Hawks head.

Yep. There's a Pharlap style handicap placed on Hawkins by the umps sometimes.

Was recently watching the 2007 game against Richmond and Gerard Healy made that almost exact call back then stating that if he becomes a stay at home forward teams will simply nullify him with two defenders.

You should relive some of Ablett Senior's highlights where defenders would literally place both hands across his shoulders to keep his feet planted on the ground in attempt to prevent him from jumping. Silvagni was a master at it and even worse, Silvagni stood nearly 10cm taller.

Hawkins is often taller than any defender assigned to him and if wants to continue to wrestle instead of trying to use his height advantage, that is his own fault.

He's the softest big man of his generation.
I feel no sympathy when he turns to the umpires and has a whinge.
It is like Selwood who loves to niggle during a game but when his opponent doesn't hold back and actually starts to over power him, he looks to the umpires for help.
It's one of the worst issues at Geelong. We are such an undisciplined football team and it starts with the captain who learned everything he needed to know from Johnson.
