I dont think we can put our head's in the sand any longer regarding the discipline problems at our club (I am talking on field here)

Farmer, Headland, Solomon and J Carr all leaders at the club, all out of control.

Johnson and Matt Carr to a lesser extent.

No other club has anywhere near the suspension list we have, and while we get a rough run at the tribunal, the blame in the majority rests at the club.

To make matters worse this kind of behaviour isnt winning us games..Its costing us games.

Headland cannot be judged untile we hear the truth of what Selwood said. Otherwise I agree. Fortunately it is fairly easy to fix.

See I dont entirely agree...

Can you imagine some of the things J Carr would say to opposition players? Players like people need to be able to restrain from violent acts unless attacked themselves.

Selwood's comments are disgraceful if the rumors are true..Though that doesnt mean headland and loose the plot like he allegedly did.

I think it's understandable that Des lost the plot, I would have probably done the same. I also believe that he should be held accountable for the strike, just as I believe Selwood should for his classless comments. 5 weeks for Des is more than I expected though.

We may be somewhat undisciplined, however I think the double standards that we are fighting against are making the problem much worse than it really is. See Johnson for example.

We should keep our intensity up, maybe be a bit smarter on how to use it, but we shouldn't let the suspensions scare us out of a contest.

Channel 9 just aired the comments and frankly Selwood did deserve a punch in the head.

He might have deserved one, but that doesn't mean Headland was right to do what he did. What makes it even worse is that the ball was in his area! While we're kicking it into the forward line, Headland is too busy belting some guy than to do what he's actually being paid to do - get the ball. And even worse, he gave away a free kick, and then started arguing with the umpire and gave away another one out of the centre.

He's a f**king headcase that deserves to be dropped until he can learn to control himself. You play for the team, not for yourself.

Headland will almost certainly get rubbed out, regardless of what was said. The question is what will happen to Selwood.

Des needs to get on the front foot. He'll fly to Melbourne, and there will be media waiting when he comes out. He needs to say something along the lines of "I apologise to my football club and team mates for being rubbed out. Selwood pointed to my tattoo and said she's a sl*t, I told him that it was my daughter and he said yeah she's a sl*t and I f*cked her. I am dissapointed with my reaction but I think under the circumstances my reaction is understandable."

There's a difference between saying things about peoples wives and mothers to saying you fu**ed their six year old daughter though. If Selwood pointed to Dessie's tat and said "f*ck your daughter's ugly" then that would be fine, but if what is alleged is true then it's shocking.

I'm not the biggest Headland fan, but I still can't condemn his actions on this one. There are things that shouldn't be said if you have any respect for yourself, even on a footy field.

Its disgraceful what was said, Selwood should be totally ashamed of himself.

But headlands reaction in a game of AFL football when his teams season was on the line was over the top and wrong.

Same , We are either soft or undiciplined , can't have it both ways.

I actually think this will be good for us.

Last time, We had a big upheaval like this We went on a winning run.

Selwoods lucky Des hasn't seen him on the streets.
I still don't understand why, if he was that angry about it and will kill Selwood on sight, why he went to shake his hand after the match? Seemed to be completely over the incident then, probably realised that it was a heat of the moment thing and that he overreacted.

Johnson should never been reported. It was a good old fashion shirtfront. You can raffle the rest.

In my opinion Headland should be mature enough to see that type of sledge for what it is, which is obviously a lie, and simply an attempt to put him off his game. It certainly doesn't warrant giving Selwood exactly what he was after. Let the umpire know that he would like Selwood's offensive comments investigated, then beat Selwood at footy, or run through him the first chance you get.

You can be soft at the footy and undisciplined. Johnson is the only one to be reported anywhere near the footy. Carr, Farmer, Headland, Carr, Black and Dodd weren't contesting the ball when reported. I would much rather have players getting rubbed out putting their body on the line than whacking blokes.

If Headland gets rubbed out we will be missing Peake, Schammer, Browne, Headland, Johnson and Farmer, some of our quickest players. I can't see it being a good thing.

We've had dozens of upheavels, one of which resulted in a winning run.
