He goes on about Essendon being flat last week and set for a let down!!! Fair dinkum it is all about Essendon. No mention of some of the young Tigers resurging, take out Hurley, Watson and Hocking there is not much there particularly compared to the Tigers midfield. their speed advantage is not an advantage versus Richmond, and their forward line should not present to many problems to our improving backline.

All said and done Richmond should have won and they did despite the umpires and Grimes hammy!!!

Agree ..this can only be bettered by the clowns in Adelaide (5aa) when Port are playing anyone. Insert Port into the bolded area and you have a comedy in action when Port are on a roll, and then get overrun in the 2nd half! Not really squirming in their case, blatent one-eyed supporters you would expect to be confronted by in the stands of AAMI losing it, rather than commentators. I expect they believe they are ony commentating to the people of Adelaide.

Hardwick certainly got the last laugh though- as that interview with him, Hird and Lloyd, which naturally had a very 'old-boys' Essendon theme, had a 'this is Essendon's game - thanks for the Tigers turning up and being the fallguy!!

I was too pumped watching us 'control' the game to worry about the commentators. Most hate us...as it should be...beats the BS love I have been feeling for the last few years from them, and opposition supporters, because they feel sorry for us. #$%@ that! Bring on the hate!

Lloyd did say he tipped us but I thnk it was just to soften the blow of his comments during the broadcast.

Lloyd and Micheal Long both tipped us before the game.

Halfway through the first quarter he gave BOG to Heppell and bagged richmond at every opportunity. He refused to see and state that the reason some of the bomber players were playing poor was due to the tiges pressure and game plan.

Agree with Heppell. Its not just Lloyd but every journo and broadcaster and it really pisses me off. Last night comparisons, remembering how today its been all about how great Heppell is and how the heck did clubs not pick him before Essendon.

They might of tipped us "on air" but did they actually fork out some $$ and back their mouths? I doubt that. But then again the look on Lloyds face post game was that he was very disappointed, not so much a bloke who just got his tip correct.

Heppel, yes he does have some man love from the media and was playing well early (and continued all night) when the commentators made the very early BOG call, but at the time we were in front, had more inside 50's, more front half possessions and dominating the clearances. Lloyd then opened his cake hole and said how well we were to be so close to essendon, WTF? Clearly biased commentating that only got worse through the game.

However we had the last laugh and took the four points.

I'm working on a theory Baz and this is another instance which firms it up. The really important stat you're after which explains everything is:

Heppell: looks like he just jumped off a billboard advertised surfboards.

Conca: spotty, unglamorous ranga (no offense intended, I love a lot of unglamorous ranga's as players).

Have a think about the blokes who get mercilessly bagged around here, and the ones whose poor games fly completely under the radar or get overrated, a times beyond belief. The staggering man-love for Raines and the way he moved when it was obvious he didn't have any of the necessary tools. Stacks of other examples in our club and the league as a whole, and nobody falls for this rubbish analysis harder than the commentators.

It's an interesting theory I think.
