that is how i would describe carltons perfornmace tonight. The second half was the worst effort i have seen since last year and it looked like we were the same rabble that was going around last year. Noticed that when things aren't peachy, pagan goes to his bag of tricks .......... or should i say trick and pulls out a game plan the sux the big one........................ pagn your paddock is dry..................... there has been a drought, if it's such a great plan why doesn't laidley use it........................considering the player are used to it?......... it doesn't work........................ we looked much better last week when we were mixing it up a bit............................... pagn has to go.

Please, don't be a Richmond supporter. Didn't he tell everyone to give us until Round 6? We're a fair chance against WC next week then Collingwood who will probably have Buckley and Tarrant out.

We lost because our forwards didn't fire - simple as that. I reckon our midfield did well, but as I said before it's the smaller, quicker forwards who hurt us more. This has been evident in all games this far. Notice how Lloyd didn't belt us but Lovett-Murry did?

McKay will be sorely missed - we have no one to take his place.

so lloyd didn't kick ............ what was it 3/9 or something like that............................ and you think you know something about footy. Why don't you just admit that this could have been far uglyer then what it was................ and damn was it ugly.

Carlton wasted opportunities and gave away easy goals through turnovers and poor decision making after dominating in the midfield in the first half. The Blues should have been up by about 5 goals.

In the second half Essendon's midfield dominated, which just goes to show how bad Carltons onballers were, because Essendon has an ordinary midfield at the best of times. Thats where the game was lost.

so what you are saying is that after round 6 .............. if we are still putting in performances like that........................ and that was woeful................... then he'd walk away............... i doubt it..................... as for being a chance against WC .................... i doubt that too. And if we can only beat depleted sides............ like geelong................... and we only just beat them................... then you guys are kidding your selves if you think we are improving....................

I dont think it was our forwards that didnt work.

- We let the lead go by demoralising turnovers
- Campo had an absolute shocker, bad decision making, bad disposals
- Our decision making in the 2nd half was disgraceful, delivering time and again to an out numbered contest.
- Lance went for the hopeful handpasses that didnt work, the smaller players were insipid, the players running the ball had no support (no talking etc.)
- the pressure got to our backline
- delivery into the forward 25m was very bad, giving fev next to no chance

BUT THE MAN REASON WE LOST WAS GETTING THE BALL OUT OF THE CENTRE IN THE 2ND HALF...simply they were too good!!

If No.18 had kicked a little straighter, if they hadnt hit the post as much, then the score would have truly reflected the game...as painful as it is

Overall our midfield was good - it's just that our forwards couldn't convert nor apply pressure to their defenders who were rebounding at will. If Whitnall and Fevola had good days then the result would've been much different - Whitnall was OK but didn't do mcuh, but where was Fevola, Kenna, Morrell and DeLuca? If they actually did anything the margin would've been significantly reduced.

He kicked 2.7. I said that Lloyd didn't spank us, hence he didn't hurt us on the scoreboard. Am I correct? Yes, it would've been uglier, but it wasn't. That didn't happen... and you're criticising me about my knowledge of football? You're the one suggesting that Pagan must go! And tell me, who will replace him, and will they even do a better job? I'll tell you this; if PAgan goes, Fevola's workrate will fall drastically.

Agreed... except that I thought it was our forward line's inability to kick a decent score and to stop Essendon rebounding was the major cause IMO. Our midfield did have enough of the ball, but silly errors, poor conversion and lack of pressure to Essendon defenders was the key reason. Looking back at the Kangaroos, you can see we did so well because our forward line was functioning without much imput from Campo or Stevens, and even though we were getting beaten at clearences... it was our forward who converted. And also put a lot of pressure on their rebounding players which was sadly lacking against Essendon.

If Fevola, Whitnall, Kenna, DeLuca and Morrell do something and create some sort of impact next week then we're a chance. Even if Campo and Stevens are limited. With Kouta possibly coming back, we have at least another option to win the hardballs.
