only 2 people in the team today deserve to actually playing afl
every one else.... should be doing kick to kick and basic handballing drills 5 hours a day every day this week...
Geelong are by no means playing great football today... but when you kick 20 metres and put it straight on their chest....
when youve got no pressure on you and drop a chest mark any team is made to look great


but on the bright side good work jones youve been great today and schnieder youve played a smart game when youve had a chance

lets hope we actually play football next week not this rubbish.......
 
Our B-Grade players are woeful.
Week in week out we have to rely on our stars who play with everything they got and then we have 5-8 players that are simply not up to it.
WE are now paying the price for our trading of draft picks, poor drafting and lack of blooding. I would much prefer Jack Steven, David Armitage, Jarryn Geary, Jarred Allen, Ben McEvoy to all develop in the senior squad than have players like teh Clarke bros, Gardiner, Kosi (yes, kosi) all stagnating and getting by on name alone.
 
Jones, Gilbert, S Fisher - The rest have been a disgrace

We are going out in straight sets, coz we aint gunna beat collingwood next week
 
Kosi is terrible, can we still use him as trade bait? he has 1 good game every 8 it's just shit.

we'd be lucky to get a bag of twisties and a half eaten tic-tac for him....
GC could be interested, hopefully they'll value him on his infamous 3 games.
 
dont be 2 hard on yourselves guys - the cats are a bloody good team, and like you all, i want to see them beaten too, but i cant see it happening unfortunately

to beat them, you really have to get a whole lot of luck and everything has to go right on the day

Just frustrates the hell out of me that in big games it's the same players we rely heavily on and it's the same players that tag along for the ride.
 
I expected a loss but thought it would at least be respectable. That was just shocking to watch. Terrible skills out there. Riewoldt played an absolute shocker, probably his worst game of the year. It's tough being a forward when your teams getting thrashed, but I expect alot better from him, I don't think he coped well with the pressure.

It's a small consolation is that we were thrashed by one of the greatest teams of all time, but it's no excuse.

thats exactly how i feel after my teams discraceful effort friday - i can only hope we both can turn it around as i couldnt stand a geelong hawks grand final with arrogant buddy running around with all the arrogant cats smart arses too!!

what i dont get is why teams that play them continually chip the ball around the boundry line ? its just conceding defeat ! just bang the bloody ball long and straight down the guts and set up a structure to allow for that tactic ! Well, it beats chipping it around, achieving absolutely nothing

and while were at it, tackle them hard , and man up , and make them earn it for a change !

Don't be to hard on yourselves, Geelong are an awesome unit and most people would have had them winning comfortably. Yep next week against the Pies is very winnable. Looks like the saints will have to make some tough decisions at the end of the year. Time to let the Clarke bros go and trade Kotchi.

Look, way too many passengers. Terrible skills, no pressure. All the things we were saying about St Kilda about 10 weeks ago. This is not the St Kilda team of late, we're better than this. We need our bottom 6 to play well next week and also the likes of Kosi, Roo and Dal to have a greater influence. Losing Ball and Dempster hurt us big time this week, hopefully we get Bally back, we desperately need his clearance work.
 
And for heaven's sake, JUST PICK BIRSS!!! Chuck the Chuck, and bring in the Birss. Fire Justin "I'm relieved when we leave the finals" Kositstick.

all i was expecting was the saints to have a crack... not go back to the style of football that had them 5-7 looking at not even making the 8


no one put the effort in..... i love my team dont get me wrong but there were too many passangers today and not enough effort...

skill levels were well below afl standard... the way we played we wouldve struggled against melbournem :S

i believe the saints are still a chance this year... but if they bring that football to the table then no we arent.....

the commentators kept saying "they need a spark they look flat" while jones caused 2 turn overs against 2 of their top players and rather then the guys running it in they chipped and chipped and dropped an easy mark and the ball got run down the other end...

these ppl are paid top dollar to kick a ball straight and when your dropping marks kicking directly to the other team... not holding onto tackles you are no chance...

also as i said in the original post... geelong werent playing that great... just our effort was lacking in a big big big way

Think I'll spend my money on grog next week. :p Probably have a better time then at the G with 60,000 ferals.
 
Yeah, I know what you mean, A2R - it really reeked to sit there, having travelled from Adelaide, and paid $50 to see players playing like something I wouldn't pay $5 a kilo for at the fruiterers. Limp as steamed lettuce for most of the time.

Least you got to watch Harves one last time, (not likely to come back down unless we make the granny I guess?)
 
Spot on A2R - We can't come back every week (much of my job happens on weekends, anyway). I'd ALMOST be tempted for the Saints v Hawks match, because my best friend is a Hawksfan. But yeah, if we make it to the Granny, we'll go - if only so my sister has an extra shoulder to cry on when we get pummelled again by the Cats!
 
Bottom 8 players for St.kilda is a concern. Can they contribute in big games?Geelong will do that to almost every opposition. St.kilda were not bad, just outclassed.

You got pumped by the 08 premiers today ( lets not bullshit around the fact there is daylight b/n Cats and anyone else) ..... but pleeeeease lift and cain the barcode scum next week.
I cant stand the crap coming from the ferals that " we can beat Geelong again " ....as if Bomber will allow the Cats to be so unprepared for mediocre opposition that fluked a good tackling night like that again.

Go Sainters kick the s**t outta those braindead bastards ( god knows we did it twice this year :D :D )
