You may not have said you rated him but using your criteria I don't see how you can say in your words that he is far, far superior to Bollinger at this point in time. In fact if we were to compare their performances the only way possible and that is in the last two tests when they have both been in the same team, Bollinger has outperformed Johnson.

When Doug Bollinger is named ICC Cricketer of the Year I will happily applaud his ability to play the game, until then......daylight will stand between him and Johnson.

What did Steve Smith and Burt Cockley do specifically to earn call ups to the Australian squad?

I would say they were in form and warranted a test call up bit like Lehman untill he flashed at a wide outside off stump in 1998 proving once and for all he did not have what it took to play test cricket

Well making runs at the domestic comp is no great shake the idea is to go for the bash and score quick runs no skill required,something Lehman excelled at BUT when it came time to play out a innings with a bit of skill and maybe not score for a over or two he had NFI he was not capable of playing test Cricket

Hauritz got in cause we needed a spinner and the options were....................

I am utterly convinced I've had the piss taken out of me for the last 3 pages, if so, well done!

And yep the next 3 tests will be filled with the battle of the heavyweights of w***ers in world cricket! Am only really looking forward to watching Kaneria bowl because I've missed seeing a good leggy and hopefully watching Hughes bat some.

He's had ample opportunity to get some wickets. The 4th day at Adelaide was on a pitch that offered assistance, but he did nothing. 2/180 in that test aswell if I remember correctly.

In Adelaide 1st innings Hauritz 36 overs 2/111 at 3.08 Big Ben 1st innings 5/155 at 2.92

2nd innings Hauritz 0/69 at 2.56 Big Ben 0/51 at 1.89.

So both spinners did ok early but not much other than contain in the second.
