Div 1 2026

My prediction for 2025.

1 Park Orchards
2 Boronia
3 South Belgrave
4 Beaconsfield
5 North Ringwood

6 Montrose
7 Mooroolbark
8 Bayswater
9 Norwood
10 Doncaster

The bottom four teams will be well off the mark as each are struggling at this time with significant player losses and little to no recruits/ depth. Who gets relegated from these clubs is a lottery.
Bayswater and Mooroolbark will be miles above Norwood and Doncaster. Both have new coaches and an influx of new players.

8. Doncaster

10. Norwood

Expecting a big bounce back from SB. I'll be surprised if Norwood win a game after recruiting half of Nunawading.

Any reason for South Belgrave to slide Bunk? They have a fully fit Luke Dunstan as virtually a recruit, also have Ryan Silver returning after a year off . Throw in top premier recruits in Calvin Dariou and Kane Young .Sam Muirhead also a handy in. Recently added to their forward/ ruck stocks in ex AFL listed Clay Tucker . Then add Tyreece Leiu and Taylor Garner after both being unavailable in finals last season. Have lost some but ins far outweigh the outs . Favourites for mine .

Yep very good points… I was just kind of sticking them where I thought of the top of my head and SB kinda fell there. But from what you’re saying they’ll Be right up there.

New coaches generally take a bit of time to bed in.

Mooroolbark look to have a few from Woori Yallock but Smith is an enormous out and Monkhurst is also a big out. The rest of their recruits seems to be U19/reserves players.

Bayswater seem to have a few ins but hard to say if any are standouts.

But you’re probably right that they’re not in the Doncaster / Norwood bracket.

After seeing the outs that South Belgrave have, it really seems that it's mainly just reserves depth they've lost. There ins are quite impressive and will have the best ruck and midfield combo by far with Garner, Tucker swapping in ruck and add Dunstan into that midfield I believe that will be a strong midfield. I see South Belgrave being top 3, with Park Orchards and Beacy to be very convincing too with there strong line ups.

Boronia will come up with a strong squad, after already keeping there whole team plus adding a few more decent players from broader EFNL clubs.

North Ringwood and Montrose to round out the top 5. Montrose have lost some really good players though.

Id bet a lot of money to say Norwood do the double drop and also go through winless. They've lost half of there senior team from last year which already wasn't an impressive squad. Nunawading top up players probably wasn't the best solution. My bet for the spoon is Norwood, with Doncaster only just being better.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know of a lad who played for Doncaster Sharks this year called Pat Jacobsen?

Is moving to Adelaide for work and was just wondering how he goes.

Also, what is the standard like in Div1?

Cheers

Looks like he played 8 senior games for Doncaster and got in the bests 6 times. Not a bad effort although they werent a very strong team in 2024. You can search a players footall history by googling their name and 'Playhq'

Div 1 football is a pretty high standard, the top few teams would be competitive in most other Premier/Division 1 leagues. Like I said though Doncaster didn't have a great year only winning 3 games..

Thanks for the information mate.

Had a few injuries apparently which is why only play half the season.

Should go ok over here in Div2 the. By the sounds of it.

Bit of an end of an era at Mooroolbark judging by the playing list posted on their website a few days ago - as far as I’m aware this will be the first year no members of their 2006 U18 premiership side will be playing.

1. South Belgrave
2. Beaconsfield
3. Park Orchards
4. Boronia

10. Norwood

Looks pretty spot on. Boronia could push higher depending on a few key cogs.
Great list 👏

Flip of the coin for relegation between Norwood and Doncaster
Top 3 then Daylight, hard to pick but if South have a fully fit list come September they should win it.
Aarts league BnF. Will absolutely dominate

Go through winless? How much is a lot of money, I'm definitely interested...

Practise match results for anyone interested…
Montrose beat Upwey by 18 goals
Bayswater lose to Dromana by 5-6 goals
Boronia beat Heathmont by 8 goals
North Ringwood beat Lower Plenty by 4-5 goals
Mooroolbark by 12 goals over Deer Park.

Nope, I believe Croydon 1st drop and Waverley, then Mulgrave.
Apparently Doncaster Captain walked out after 10 goal practice match belting!

Croydon were runners up

Mulgrave prelim

Waverley semi

Templestowe elimination

Or Wantirna South were relegated

Pretty hard to judge them all as Boronia were just so far ahead of everybody.
