They haven't been active since "Underworld" but what a career it was, each album filled with their distinctive sound and their live shows, the songs, the performances, Mark McEntee's guitar playing and Chrissy, where do you start? Out of any Australian band, if I had a wish for one to reform, it would be Divinyls, they would still put one hell of a show.

What's your favourite album? I like them all but Underworld and What A Life are my faves. The Jailhouse rock DVD is a must see for anyone with even a remote interest in Aussie rock.

Only Lonely is one of their best I reckon. Siren (Never let you go) would have been a treat live in the early days. We all know Chrissy was on stage as Judy recently, but what's old Mark up to? Anyone know if hes still performing? If not its such a shame that a talent like that has been so inactive. Does anyone know off a live DVD performance other that Boggo Prison? That would please moi, yeah!

I second that quote totally. Great DVD, great band and great times in Oz Rock.

Just bumped this thread to post some great live Divinyls performances from their Boggo Road Prison concert aka the Jailhouse Rock DVD and it's already been mentioned.

I was already a nailed on Divinyls fan but seeing the youtube videos from that concert has taken it to another level. Would have loved to have been there.

All the songs from that concert are on youtube but these two songs are my highlights.

Love School - starts off slow but then ramps it up around the 4 min mark with Mark McEntee cutting sick on guitar and Chrissy doing her usual pole dancing shtick (bonus points if you can spot David Cloke rocking out in the crowd)

Pleasure and Pain - Just an awesome version of a classic song, the extended intro has to be seen to be believed. McEntee and Amphlett at the top of their game and the rest of the band isn't too shabby either.

If there is such a thing as Australian Rock Royalty then Mark McEntee and Chrissy Amphlett would have to be King and Queen.

Chrissy is the greatest thing to come out of Geelong ever.

She wouldn't have much competition.

Mark McEntee is from Perth. I've heard that at high school he was always mucking around playing his guitar rather than doing his schoolwork and one of his teachers told him to stop wasting his time playing guitar as he'd never make a career out of it. Fair to say that Mark had the last laugh.

Mark was on Better Homes and Gardens last year showing off his house. He is married to a fashion designer and if I recall had some strange hobbies, but can't remember what they were

If you are a fan of The Divinyls, then get a hold of Mark Opitz biography released recently. An interesting read on how The Divinyls underachieved, even though they had US No 1.

not wanting to sound/ look the smart ass but I thought 'Good Die Young' was a classic... always enjoyed the 'happy happy happy happy' bit..

one of their songs that didn't get the kudos at the time
