Bed,
No-one likes to see any player cop a serious injury like that. Must be very disappointing for Ormond. Freak footy injury the result of a legitimate tackle. I noticed they ran out of soldiers in the end, with a couple of injuries also to key big men. Hope they are right for Saturday.
All jokes aside, if the ambos are going to take 45 minutes, maybe the injured player should have been carried over to Willy Hospital (it is only two blocks away). Something for the Willy medical staff to ponder in the future.

Carrying a player with two breaks in his leg two blocks. Perhaps a good way to aggravate an already serious injury.

Focussing on a response time of 45 minutes is more to the point. We all deserve a better service from our ambos than that.

Boys, it was a non-life threatening injury. I am quite sure waiting the 45 mins for the ambo to arrive didn't make his injury worse or put his life in danger.

No it wasnot life threatening, but a trainer had to hold it in place, try that for 45 minutes! Hopefuly none of your precious boys at Mazenod have the same problem

No where did I state it wasn't a serious injury and I hope he is ok. Of course I would want the ambo to get there sooner but I wouldn't want to place someone else's life in danger so they could attend to mine or one of the precious Nodder boy's broken leg.

Geez, you wouldn't want to have a heart attack around Ormond on match days, if Bedford was in charge you'd be the one waiting 45 mins.

This was Code2. The response time is suppose to be 15 minutes. This was apparently 45 minutes. Try lying in pain with two breaks in your leg for that time. For an inner city call 45 minutes is unacceptable.

This thread has turned into a mothers club with people b!tching and whinging about rubbish instead of talking about the upcoming season!

I hope this isn't a reflection of the new clubs in the division and a glimse of what they will bring to the field!!!

Now, lets hear about whose team is going to smash the other on the weekend and what are everyones tips for the weekend ahead! I have resubmitted mine from last week below. I stand by them!

NOBS vs Old Geelong 40 points

Ormond vs Glen Eira 6 points

Willy CYMS vs Old Mentone 54 points

MHSOB vs Whitefriars 4 points

St JOCS vs Peninsula 23 points

After an extra long hot summer; nearly 5 months worth of pre season it has all come down to Round 1 in a couple of days. And how excited am I. MHSOBFC have had one of the best and most consistent pre seasons I have ever been involved in. We have kept all our players and recruited well. Our youngsters are a season better than the start of last year, our mid age players have bulked up and are looking strong and our veterans are fitter and firing better than ever. MHSOBFC to be a real premiership threat this year. Good luck to all teams. Whitefriars, we welcome you to the 'house of pain' this Saturday.

Quote from Willy's website: "The Cy’s are playing an exciting brand of football. Building on the nucleus of the team that has been put together over the last few years, Coach Rickman has introduced some new structures and team plays and is not afraid to throw players around to create mis-matches. In addition, we have been fortunate to pick up some outstanding recruits who bring height, physical strength and presence, and experience to the club."

It's always hard to win at Fearon Reserve. Either Willy are not as good as they thought they were or Old Mentonians are the real deal with a 60 point win.

Early days but upsets are already happening.

You may be right re: Willy not being as good as previous years, but take nothing away from Old Mentone, they were terrific today they play a very exciting brand of footy. I believe they are the real deal from what i saw today!!

Having said that its only round 1.. Remember, a weeks a long time in football !

Wow, I had that down for a 100+ point win for Willy

OMs were very lucky to survive in D1, they been on a recruiting drive?

Yes, OM's were lucky to stay in the division, having to beat Old Geelong away in Round 18. They did so and stayed up.

They looked a lot different to last year and all of them look very young.

As for their recruiting drive, I'm not sure, surely it can't be the same team as last year, the team that basically lost to every team by 12 or more goals throughout the season.

Welcome we were, what a great venue on a day like Saturday! Over the years we always seemed to play there in the dead of winter in a bog heap but yesterday was magnificent.

Good footy also with the Friars kicking out at quarter time and remaining at around the quarter time gap for the remainder of the game. Credit to MH they looked gone a couple of times but stuck at the task. Tran was a standout for them while the Friars was a pretty even effort on a very solid pre-season base!

Great to see the new and old skippers working either end of the ground, great blokes and players!

Huge game next round with Willy set to atone for their 1st round loss, hopefully the Friars will get a couple back from injury and head into the game with a full side.

Looks like there could be a fairly polarisewd year coming up with the size of a couple of the margins, hope the Joccers and Glen Eira can get themselves together and provide better contests throughout the year.

Great to have ammo footy back for 2012!!!!

Round 2

Old Mentonians vs St.Johns by 10 points

Old Geelong vs Ormond by 25 points

Glen Eira vs MHSOB by 40 points

Peninsula vs NOBSP by 6 points

Whitefriars vs Williamstown by 20 points

Seems a tightish round if you ask me. Could be some close games which are vital to win at this stage of the season.

OM'S play their first home game at the new ground at Mordialloc. I think St.Johns will think its a big chance to steal a win in the division so look for them to come out really hard.

Old Geelong look to have recruited well and Ormond seem to have a decent injury list forming already.

MHSOB should beat Glen Eira, just depends by how much?

Peninsula OB v NOBSP will be a cracker and is probably the game of the round.

Whitefriars are always thereabouts and are always tough to beat at home and should get the job done.

Are they moving from their playing fields in Keysborough? If so, why?
