I'm trying. No goal umps again this week, clubs should get a discount as the powers that be are happy to fine at will if the clubs stuff up

You can't expect goal umpires at this level, there isnt enough people who want to do the job. Just like you can't expect decent field umpires untill finals

You do. You should be charged umpire fees pro-rata on what is supplied. Up to your secretary or treasurer to be vigilant and cross check but from my experience VAFA charge for what you are supplied and will withdraw the fee if they become aware that umps are unavailable, withdraw or you are overcharged. While frustrating and puts an extra burden on clubs it is difficult to recruit umpires at all levels.

Round 12 results were according to expectations with winners but all results were by sizeable margins.
The Pirates kicked the sweep with a massive 35 goals and a 182 point winning margin over MHSOB.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that the final four is locked in and will remain the same at Round 18.
NOBs vs POBFC in the second semi and Whitefriars vs Old Geelong in the first semi.
St Johns has already packed its bags for Division 2 in 2013.
Who joins them will come down to the loser of the Round 17 clash between Willy and Glen Eira. It's a toss of the coin.

Round 13 Tips:

NOBs to defeat Old Mentonians
If Ormond are switched on this game could be close but Old Geelong needs to win.
MHSOB will be flat after last week's flogging but should still get over Willy.
Glen Eira vs St Johns is another battle against relegation and Glen Eira should win at home.
Match of the round is the Pirates vs the Friars. Peninsula at home will win.

What happened at mt Eliza? Different grounds for firsts and seconds not ideal and no stretchers for injuried players?? Umps refusing to stop the game so we could help injured players off the ground as there was no stretcher. Would be nice if every club took players safety seriously.

When GE played at Mt Eliza we were offered the same option. Its hard enough getting out there and organising off field help let alone having to play at two grounds. So it didn't happen. The answer to this predicament is to refuse or make them play both games at the alternate ground.

Round 14 Tips:

NOBs at home for their third game in four weeks should account for Whitefriars.
Old Geelong will defeat Willy at Como Park.
Peninsula may well kick the biggest margin of the round against Ormond at EE Gunn.
MHSOB will defeat St Johns at home.
Old Mentonians has to defeat Glen Eira to keep a slim finals chance alive

Peninsula did end up kicking the biggest margin of the round with a 70 point demolition of Ormond.
NOBs easily accounted for Whitefriars.
Willy tried hard against the Oggers but ended up going down by 6 goals.
MHSOB hung on to defeat St Johns by 3 goals.
Old Mentonians have kissed their finals hopes goodbye losing to Glen Eira by a heartbreaking, solitary point.

Guessing the bar at Old Mentonians wasn't too full after the heartbreak

They have never had a good following. After what they did to GE last time around they were lucky to have anyone. There we over 30 GE players and supporters reluctantly having a drink. Could count the OM players on two hands. Probably looking over the video of the game to see if they could find someone to dob in. A great win with a 75 point turnaround.

how is that looking for you now Kruzeering????

We'll see after finals, no doubt you wont be making any bold predictions and just chirping up after the event, if things fall your way.
