What is going on at Ormond Bedford? There was talk at the game yesterday that the club may fold at the end of the season with more players leaving, the commitee including the pres resigning and the club in massive debt. Surely a club with one of the biggest junior feeders in the area can't be in that much trouble.
 
It is interesting that "Eugene Gunn" has joined the Big Footy forum today to post an inflammatory statement about a Club that has no threat of leaving Div 1. Perhaps it is no more than a devious attempt by another nearby Club (A##X) who is desperately searching for a new home. Poor form!! Ormond are not going anywhere. Stop trying to discredit genuine Clubs and look elsewhere.

There was never a shred of credible evidence that Ajax intended or even asked to take of over EE Gunn.

Bedford is an outstanding Ormond person and if there were a few more like him then the club would be in far better shape. While the term ‘folding’ is way over the top clearly things not all that rosy. Ormond U19s forfeited on Saturday and I hear their Reserves played with 17. A proud club with a great history but it seems there might be some work to do.

Thanks Rooster for the kind words.
The fact of the matter is that the 19's have suffered like Hampton having a few boys at private schoolboys on the list. Also we have had a few Under 17's playing but they have had finals. This week we will be fielding a strong 19's for a triple-header and we will have about 75% of the 17's playing next year.
There is no way Ormond will fold, not with 17 junior sides to draw from.
The Ressies had a full side on Saturday and will do next week.
 
I know that the club commencing with A and finishing with x applied for Princes Park for their Seniors to play amd missed out because there are othe City Of Glen Eira clubs in front of them despite an alleged financial incentive... ( A..x aree located in the City Of Por Phillip). If A.. X did apply for Gunn they would have nil chance as Ormond are going nowhere and as Bedford said they have a massive junior structure that will flow to seniors eventually. Sure they are struggling on and off field but they will survive. It surprises me that they are financially struggling... I remember 8 - 10 years ago when that Holsworth got involved they were making excellent profits and had a decent amount in the bank for a rainy day. Maybe they should knock on his door for help... his sons down there isnt he??

Yes he is.
Ajax are under Parks Vic and i don't blame them for wanting to get away from there as PV are worse than any council going around, but the fact of the matter is that Ajax have been a traditional Albert Park club and for everybodies elase sake they should stay there and keep away from traditional Glen Eira clubs. There cricket club is also trying the same shit

Sometimes money doesnt buy everything... How is the club travelling financially? didnt they have a rather big bloke who used to own a newsagent involved, the club had money troubles, Holsworth took over returned the club to a profit situation but then he left and the old newsagent bloke is back...? is he on the committee is he Treasurer?

Question for Bedford, is OAFC advertising for a coach due to constitutional reasons or has the coach pulled the pin?
