Jas, just waiting for you to open your twitter account. I'm enjoying the ride too. Premiers and Champions I reckon. Love the website. And yes, 85 points is a big win, what's been the difference? PI
Not quite. I still have memories of what happened 5 years ago when the Rovers were in a similar situation to now, when they were 7-0 in Premier C in 2008 and everyone thought they go through the season undefeated, yet they had an indifferent second half of the year, lost to Ormond in the 2nd semi, just managed to scrape over the line against Oakleigh in the preliminary final but lost to Ormond in the grand final. So, there is a lot of footy still to be played between now and the end of the year.

C'mon Jase, the lids off. The silverware is there for the Rovers taking.:)

While it's great to see the Rovers in both Reserves and Seniors doing so well at this stage, however it's understandable to remain cautious. You only have to see results of the other games and the ladder to understand just how close this comp is. We will get a much better idea of where the Rovers are at in the second half of the season.

-Rovers can't be beaten, to much confidence in each other, all 18 run to dangerous places without the ball, they switch extremely well. Don't rely on stars, all put in
-uphill battle for the friars for here on out with gun FF J Daou doing a shoulder and retiring during the week.
-gun mid d hogan and ruck m mattenson heading off o/s for 6 months
-and captain mirribella moving interstate for work
-add that to Abdallah who's already out for the season and that's 5 of our best 7 or 8 gone for the year! A lot of opportunities for some 19s and 2s players to put their hand up.

Ventured out to South Yarra yesterday to see a very impressive Ormond give MHSOB a touch up. If Ormond could play like they did yesterday they would be a massive shake for finals. Too inconsistent at the moment, but that's what happens when you play a lot of kids.

Congratulations to Martinov for 200 games. BOG for me & 5 or 6 goals. Not a bad milestone game. Your thoughts Bedford?

The club is on the right track, pity about the VB, I've lots of friends down at GSO, and i'm just stating facts that there are a lot of 17 year olds playing.;)

Great effort by the big fella yesterday, the kids were good as well and we will be stronger with 7 first graders to come back in over the next couple of games

Congratulations to Martinov on the milestone. It's good to see a quality player and bloke like him play with one club for so long - I remember seeing him play nearly 10 years ago!

Great to see the huge contingent of Bulleen Temp players and supporters staying back for a drink after the game. Top effort.
Just adding to the Phantom's comment, this week it was also great to see a very large number of Williamstown people enjoying a beverage and snag before their trip back over the Westgate.

Big Martinov is a true club person, perhapsy the Orms can show some consistency and challenge Prahran hopefully the club has started to get it's act together off field. Any word on the missing $$ Bedford?

Hello all i'm new to Big Footy, i have been following this thread the whole year though.
Just wondering who you guys think are the best 5 players from each team?
What the team of the year will look like?
Top 4 teams at the end of the year?
I know its early but thought a change in conversation might be interesting....

Good call jemena.
May as well start the ball rolling a little.

I reckon Luke hull from mentone - moves so smoothly and great disposal
Ryan Martin from ormond - smart type always wins the 1on1 ball

I'll have a stab at the ladder at the end of the year and best player for each

HR - Corp (Fletcher stiff)
PA - Wall
Will - Gray (take your pick of which one)
Orm - Chisholm
-------------
OM - Sharp
BT - Florence
OG - O'Brien
WF - Stafford
MHSOB - Hamilton-Ho
GE - Tsirogiannis

I think Uncle Mick was naming the guys most likely to buy him a drink. Ed Turner.
I see! I thought it was in answer to Jemena who asked: "Just wondering who you guys think are the best 5 players from each team?"

I know Uncle put in 7 names but we all know HR people can't count.

Reviving some carbon dated news are we?

Hardly carbon dated AM. thousands have gone "missing" and still no update...thank good ness blokes like Bedford keep the place going, someone mentioned last night that a Prahran coach let rip at one of the breaks with some audible ( loud)colourful language and will be asked to explain..
Anyway from the teams selected list looks as if the Orms have several sons playing of past Orm fathers - Chisholm, Singleton, Mc Cooke, Oaten, Holsworth, ....

Elaborate? I can only assume for it to be an issue that it was directed at women or umpires? If it's not the case, surely a coach can put a rocket up his players with a bit of language..?
