Assuming the century old link to St Pats College is now defunct and no 1 pointers from them.

Shame that such a strong school link has just been cast aside.

Lucky the strong bond between Assumption College and Prahran Two Blues lives on. Hate to see that historic DNA pass.

Gold! Yep the assumption “ association” has really rocketed them up the grades !

On a serious note, for a very small inner-city school the now defunct St Josephs’ North Melbourne punched way above their weight. For a long time NOBs were a seriously good footy club in the top grades. Alas demographics and other factors led to the demise of the school and once it closed it was only a matter of time before the NOBs was dropped off the club name.

When I was playing school sport (a loooooong time ago) St Joeys were always a formidable opponent despite being much smaller than the stronger ACC schools (St Bernards, De La, Parade, St Bedes etc).

Have not seen them play for a long time so know nothing of the St Pats link but they are not the first ammo club to attempt an alignment with a regional school. None have really seemed to gain much traction.

Once again the rumours out of the Krushers is not good, all hearsay , but the bloke down the street is the new coach, as no one applied and Barry the Prez has retired and people like him don't fall off trees.
Those rats from DLS are going hard at our kids once again
The bloke that has taken over coaching has already coached the club to a few premierships. Already improved vibes at training. Don't worry about life after Barry, the blokes that are taking over know how to run an organisation.

Good for the club , some good people there.

The D1 scribe has done it again in his 17 season report

You truly are a sour, bitter old man. Maybe it's because nobody could care less about Ormond?

It's division one footy, mate. I'm surprised anyone even gives up any time to cover it. You should be more grateful.

Previous coach was a nice enough guy, just didn't quite fit a local club. Coach in charge now is definitely more "Oakleigh" and knows how to connect with the group

Am I correct that the previous “nice guy” coach was Jamie Mollo? Normally those who don’t quite fit a local club are moved in after a season, or two at most. Why did he remain there for 4 seasons if he couldn’t connect with the group?

Previously had a coaching job at Frankston Dolphins and added a level of professionalism to the club. When he came in his style and game plans were something new to the club and helped us play a more modern style of game.

Over the 4 years a lot of quality senior players left and so I guess the club have him a chance to develop the playing group. But the senior players leaving said a bit about him in hindsight
