Guarantee there are people around that do as much or more than him, premier grade bias, also wonder what he thought about the instant rebranding of the club as a 'premier' club, then to lose all 18 games and be back in D1 after a year.

You missed the point completely.

First Bedford said that the current mob has no connection with the old mob.
Then he dissed them because they were once in a merger.
Now he says that he knows the volunteer who happens to have a 50 year connection with the club.
My point is that his first comment is wrong, and his second comment is Ormond elitism.

To your points,

Every club has a worthy nominee for Volunteer of the Year. I never knock any volunteer, clubs that don't have enough of them die.
I never heard the "premier club" comment but if I was to rank the last 6 D1 promotions...

Old Camberwell - A
PEGS - B
Glen Eira - C

Parkside - E
Oakleigh - E
Prahran - F

Elitism ffs what is wrong with you
Why aren't you NOBS , you are not the true Brunswick , at least Prahran have the two blues jumper

And i know that volunteer , he's a beauty
Your slagging of Ormond has been elite, no arrogance at all , you give it out , you take it back
Much prefer the true Brunswick i played against
FWIW not sure why you drag Brunswick into this. NOBs died when the school finished, not sure what else you wanted them to do but rebrand and embrace the local football community.

It was more a return of serve FWIW, all good and fantastic that they are alive

Maybe stay in their own suburb (North Melbourne) and build on from there would have be a good start..

It's hard enough for district clubs in the Brunswick area to stay afloat let alone to have a club who were once a power in A grade come smack bang in the middle of the area and then take the Brunswick name as their own.

They have also pinched senior & junior players from these clubs and think all is peachy, it's a club I don't have much respect for.

The school closed over 15 years ago so it was only a matter of time before the “Old Boys” reference became obsolete. Even as NOBs a good proportion of their players came from that part of the world, whether past students of St Joeys or not. Have occupied the middle/lower tiers of the VAFA for many years and it has been decades since they competed in A grade. While they retained some historical reference to the school for a time, they dropped that a while ago and for the most part it draws players from the local area. They are very much a suburban club with a direct junior affiliate. They never played at North Melbourne. Have been at Gillon for 35 years and before that Royal Park. Has been a very long time since I played against them but always had lots of respect for them as a club and they always punched well above their weight.

Pat Brookes from UHS off to chase cash in the EDFL. By far their best player. Goes unnoticed whilst the big fella up fwd kicks goals.

Hearing a few more have followed. They don’t know what they are walking into at st Albans but wish them well.

He did play at Doutta Stars previously.

Any smokies for the TOTY. My few are

Chiocci - Kew

Rossington - Oakleigh

Taylor - Ormond

No Jackson Hille in the TOY , who does this
The Full forward line is elite
As usual the Ormond boys stole the spots off each other!! Hille very stiff, he is arguably the best big bodied mid in the divisions.

Standard top 6 goal kickers so nothing unusual about that.

Hille had to be in whatever . The 2 key backs were badly missed in the GF

Hille seemed to have a sub par second half of the year. Seemed like he wasn’t interested and went missing in the finals series.

Jake Lovett for OP 15 times in the best and 25 goals seems to be the biggest one missing.

Won the OAFC best and fairest and got votes in both finals , god help us.
No issue with Lovett , should be in as well

Well deserved TOTY selection for Callander, will be missed but by far the best key back in the comp. Was picked ahead of Green for Big V.

Coaches & Footy Managers vote on it.

Lol it’s not voted by coaches and footy managers. It’s done by the person who writes the footy record each week for the division.

A grade one has a few more people involved but not the lower leagues.

Wrong coaches do vote and where do you get your so called info

No denying Hille is very talented but can understand the decision.

He only got best player votes in 9 of the games? Compare that to the other mids in the team who got more BP votes - Thiel, Banfield etc.

And as others said, the issue here is Ormond having an excess of talented players taking spots away from each other.

And the real best players are not always put in as to take attention away
He also won the B & F in such a standout team

Why didn’t the coach vote for Hille? Must be a big stuff up or have a few feathers been rustled after the grand final?
He did vote for him !
No feathers to be ruffled , got beaten fair and square on the day , but 19 wins and 1 loss is an outstanding season
