Garvey, having played the other 3 finalists in the last 3 weeks was there 1 side in particular that you found stood above the other two?
UHS I'd say. There are no standouts, but in saying that their average level is higher, so some would standout more in other teams, just not their own. You need to stop a lot more of them to stop the team.

I have watched every team very closely and seen Parade twice and they are the weakest in the 4 by a street.
You could be forgiven for thinking that based on the last two weeks. Remember that we only lost to WF by 8 points, and could have pinched it. I know that it's this end of the season that matters most, but you don't win 14 straight by being the fourth best team in the comp.

You also only just beat WF by 4 points the first time around on the back of some extremely questionable umpiring whilst I doubt WF were ever concerned last time given Parade never really threatened to catch them with last goal very late

WF scored three goals as a direct result of a free kick in the second quarter, each only 25 metres or less out.

We had our Captain down for more than three quarters and came from behind to score one of our best wins of the seasons.

You can moan about umpiring, but players make more mistakes than they do, and you failed to mention the WF player who missed a sitter at the start of the last, and the guy that also missed a simple set shot in the second (also from a free), or the mistakes WE made and goals WE missed. Footy goes for 100 minutes, and the outcome isn’t just decided by a whistle in the last quarter.

Is boundy done?

Is boundy done?

I saw Boundy on the ground Saturday before the seniors, hes nowhere near done!

In relation to Parade v Whitefriars first round game, the umpiring was ordinary for both sides (apparently) with Friars gifted 2-3 goals in 1st half and none to parade, however 20 free kicks paid in last quarter which is way too over officious and over 70 free kicks for the day.
That being said, all sides need to adapt to conditions (including vafa umpiring) and side that adepts the quickest, generally wins...

Finals will be diff story as senior (more qualified) umpires drop down so wont be able to blame umpiring etc etc...

VAFA umpiring at games I have seen this year have been terrible..The parade v whitefriars at Whitefriars some old bald bloke lost control and made some horrendous calls in 3rd qtr.
Then as you say the first match at garvey was probably worst display of umpiring in the ammos that I have seen. One umpire apparantly went to school at parade and was in same class as some of the players...and then posted on VAFA facebook page...reckon the whitefriars boys would be fuming if they knew all of this...

I think you are right though BT, in saying that need to play to conditions and not worry about umpires..

Again though, what is going on down at vafa head office, umpiring dept in a shambles as I have heard and mentioned before..

Is it possible to have two bigfooty accounts and quote yourself?

Both hasbeen7 and Brainytim ironically use the double/triple full stop a lot.

Interesting that hasbeen7 also posts critically of the umpiring department a lot and Brainytim is an umpire? or are you one of those who has walked out like you are suggesting?

Hasbeen7 was also talking about the suspension of a bloke in a game that brainytim umpired in our glorius D3.

Both at the Parade game on saturday too it seems.

Best of luck to the D2 finals teams. Hope to be there next year.

Yes, I think you have mentioned it before, multiple times and each time you're asked to substantiate it you go quiet and change the subject.

Yes I know a senior ump that umpired me in C division years ago so you can take that to the bank.

Love a good conspiracy

Hardly, as I stated before, I played c grade and still follow the VAFA, so not sure where you get off with these allegations.
I know blokes at Parade, and when they play near me, I go and watch, like I go to many games in eastern suburbs sport!
For your information, is garveytrain me also? as he was at parade games that I went to but hey, we may know each other.
I have umpired for ressies in D1 and thats the extent of it!

Who do you play for in D3 as I know blokes in clubs in the east in Div 3 from Canterbury.

I dont play. These old legs are long retired. Canterbury, Swinburne, Hawthorn and Richmond all make easy travel on a saturday.

Good luck to you and your parade boys in the final.

Stop sounding like the other bloke. Us Bigfooty folk get confused.

Thought you were a friars fan? that game would look to be bloody entertaining with this prediction, and accurate!

Just some honest tips haha, going to be a tough day at the office for WF, if Nitas gets up and about they could really give it a red hot dip. I think a lot relies on his shoulders.

Yeah fair enough. On your point about Nitas, (think Garvey touched on this above) but WF, YV and OP seem to rely on a few guns, more often than UHS do. For those 3 injuries could play a larger part in finals than UHS perhaps, seem to have a great spread of talent and system that works into this well. Going to take some beating.

Out of interest, do we think WF vs YV or OP vs UHS will be a better (more entertaining) match to be at? WF v YV have a bit of a grudge don't they?

Why do you think Yarra rely on a few guns when all the talk has been they have had so many out and they have only lost 1 game since round 6?

Given the gap in the standards between the top 4 and rest, can only really look at games vs other top 4 sides. Beat WF with a full list, lost do UHS with outs apparently, Beat OP with a few outs but so did OP. Do you think yarra have a better spread than im saying?

I hope John's due to the 'win' that was awarded to St Leo's that should never have been.
Could not agree more fingers crossed although i think the lying field umpire has more to answer to than st leos!!
