Highett looked good yesterday the little bit I watched, would be a worry for GE going in to the season.

I’m not a GE supporter, far from it but struggle to cope with the comparison between div 1 southern and E grade ammo’s.... I wish we could pay something to attract players

McGain coaches Waverley Blues. Are they the club coached by Bryce McGain ?
Very confusing with 3 clubs with Waverley in their name.McGain coaches Waverley Blues.
Glen Waverley Hawks were recently promoted from div 4.
Things at the Highett v Glen Eira game we’re a bit tense with Highett playing 6 6 6 and GE refusing, both not backing down.

Good on them, why practice something you won't be playing? That doesnt help their structures and thats the whole point of a practice game!
Only the sensible leagues have stayed away from 6-6-6
It can also make it more congested .The only problem with the 6-6-6 is the old timers complaining about it.
Makes for some good free flowing footy. But as usual with any modern change, the oldies complain.

As a Collingwood supporter, I dont see how you could say the game is more free flowing having watched the Pies and Cats game on Friday night
From a local footy perspective, how do you police it with just 2 field umpires and 2 boundary umpires? Does a player in Div 3 or 4 of a local league have the fitness to get back inside the 50 after a goal in the last qtr?
Its a typical reactionary move by the AFL to a problem that would have sorted itself out once a coach came up with a game plan to beat teams who flood. But still teams flood as soon as the ball is bounced and you still have players winning the ball in their back half and looking up to see no one in front of them, so nothings changed!

i thought the vafa were not using the 6-6-6 rule?
I have correspondence from VAFA that 6-6-6 nogt being implemented. The VAFA will need to issue urgent memo to all clubs if they have changed their mindi thought the vafa were not using the 6-6-6 rule?
The only thing 6 6 6 changed in the AFL in round 1 was the lowest scoring round since 1967. Clearly a good move. Scoring ruins the game.
