My Northern contacts are big wraps on this fella , can coach .

Not sure of his actual coaching ability. He did coach Epping to a NFL Div 2 flag so that has to count for something. His recent coaching gigs have been more than forgettable, though. Definite hot-head - not sure he's what's needed at Ivanhoe. That is, if they survive at all.

"if they survive at all?" - Chance of folding before the 2019 season...? surely not.

Was close to a reality before this season just gone. I know they're doing plenty of work behind the scenes but it's a tough gig, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them fold. A real shame if it were to happen.

FWIW it won't happen, they had "one of those years" with player unavailability etc, started their 19s for the first time in a while which was a positive. Great facility and women's side is flying, still plenty to be upbeat about. Don't know anything about the coach outside of the obvious, always tough to go back to ammos from metro. They will be competitive in D2 especially if a couple of their big names return.

What do we expect from the sides coming up and down? Ivanhoe seem to be in a bit of trouble by the sounds of it, might have a point to prove! GE would be confident of a better outing than 2017.

Interesting comments on Ivanhoe. The club certainly has some issues but I don't think there's any doubt we will be fronting up in 2019.

I'd certainly hope we will be better this coming year than last. We had 12 or 13 of our best players leave last year for various reasons including travel and on top of that a handful of our remaining established senior players missed large chunks of the season with injury. Too early to say who will return but we picked up some decent new players and if they stick around and with a couple to come up from the 19s there's no doubt we will be better.

Still too many unknowns to get a proper gauge on how much better at this stage.

So what are your thoughts on the appointment?

He didn’t see his contract out at powelltown.

Avondale heights he didn’t see his contract out.

Eltham sacked him after 2 seasons.

Why do you think he will work out for a struggling ammo club?

I have no opinion 1057 at this stage as I don't know him as a person or a coach and have no idea if he'll work out. Trying to keep an open mind.

Excuse my ignorance but where or who is Powelltown?

Quesion for you all ?? I posted same in Prem thread. I Wonder what our overlords will do re the rule changes coming in next year via the "supreme chancellors" (AFL) ?? Will they implement some ? All, zero ? Personally i like some, Play on from 50mtr penalties and the runners not on ground till after a goal is scored, BUT the 6,6,6 Rule has no place in ammo footy ... thoughts?

All but 6,6,6 should be implemented. There is not a “congestion” issue. Other one may be good

Must agree here. Could be a good coach but then again from all reports Jefferey Dahmer was a good cook. Will polarise the whole club and will need a 3 minders to keep him under control on match days.
