Happy Friday and looking forward to another round of ammo footy!

Aquinas v Brunswick ......should be a good one with a few out for Brunswick reportedly (for a bit of biff). They play a physical game and make you earn your footy, so from time to time that might be right on the edge I also note that Aver did not play last week and not sure if back in the side for the men from Ringwood tomorrow, but a very important player to their chances. A bit of rain around and home ground advantage helps, but Brunswick are VERY good this season and should have enough talent to get the points.

Yarra v OP's - at home for Yarra and clearly played some better footy last week against Aquinas. Mappas mob found a way late at the Garvey and at times that's all you need to get the 4 points and move on. Special mention to Cafari who has not played a bad one this year - outstanding - and his 4 majors gave them the win the had to get against the Ants last week. The Raiders best footy is competitive in any game and I think they wont let this game slip with 'staying in touch with the top 4' very much on the line.

Hoers v BT - it's always a big game between these two sides and we have had some absolute classics over the years. The Ants have definitely improved on last year with a combination of some great youth with some experienced class. Scooter Selwood is playing his second game for us and it's a welcome return to the team with several notable absentees via injury and unavailability. We are back at home and will need to play some good footy, but think we can get the win.

Cobras v House - massive game is an understatement. Both sides would have been hoping for so much more this year and so now it's taking the opportunities when they present themselves. Raso back for the Cobras is BIG, but the House were not THAT far away from one of the seasons top performing sides last week. Flip .... Home side.

Westy's v MHSOB - game of the round at the other end of the table. Does this close the door on a potential top 2 finish to the loser? J Tran missing a few and not names again is huge for the Unicorns. Star! But they do have good depth and will be hoping they can cover a few missing. West though are also a club full of depth and at THIS skinny and long ground are a few goals better. Last time they were here they were beaten by on of the best after the siren. A little bit wet and little bit windy and so much on the line ..... Billy Irving usually says follow me. I think Westy's at home may pinch it and keep things very interesting in the top four.
P.S. this is good news for MHSOB as every time I have picked them in a big game they have lost :)

Have a great weekend, no injuries, Chump.

forgot to do my tips, kinda lucky!

Ventured down to see match of the round West Brunswick V MHSOB, my god the umpiring was TERRIBLE..........

Hey chump, thankfully it wont be as wet tomorrow as I presumed with terrible weather Tuesday & Thursday.

Had it been extremely wet, wouldve evened up some clashes to close low scoring games and dependant on ground conditions (turf pitch)

My old stomping ground at the Oggery has been resurfaced and looking a treat and no need to evade 2 turf pitches for the season!

My tips this week

Ivanhoers to defeat luckless Bulleen Temp
Brunswick to defeat Aquinas (even with 3 missing)
West Brunswick to roll MHSOB
Parade to def Yarra Valley in closest game of the round
Powerhouse to notch up first win against Cobras

Breaking news.
A lid has been reported as coming off at Ivanhoe Park. CoC will deny the existence of such a lid, but there is no putting the genie back in the bottle now 😁😁

Hey Mappa. I hear Bulleen had 7 out from last week so maybe we were lucky today.

Still think this year is a race in 4 and maybe 5 if your boys get in.

We are certainly happy to be 8-1 but have a tough month ahead playing all the other contenders.
Lid well and truly on.

Hey Chump, with the long weekend coming up, how many blokes expected at training tonight with this delightful weather? Remember at the Oggers we did 400s then had Thursday night off! #tougherbackthen

I would take a guess and suggest that (like most clubs) the coaches have advised the players of training requirements leading into a bye weekend.

We usually take the Thursday off and give players a few extra days off..... it's division 5 amateur football at the end of the day, so I doubt there will be any intense training sessions happening 😊

Happy Friday ...........

Brunswick v Hoers - huge game for both sides and another test at the top of the ladder to see how sides are tracking, even though each side still has a few missing tomorrow. Brunswick at home will be very difficult to beat and should have won by A LOT more in their last outing. I think this sees them as the slight favourites..... but I got blasted tonight by team mates for going against us and so back on the Hoers! 😊

OP's v Cobras - heartbreaking loss last week for the Cobras and now they follow up with a trip to the Garvey where the Raiders are looking for another 4 points to keep their finals aspirations alive. VERY hard to beat at home are the Mappas Mob and I see them winning this one comfortably.

House v Aquinas - The House enjoyed a great win last week away and now line up for two in a row v the men from Ringwood. Aquinas will be very disappointed in falling away so badly late in their game against Brunswick and will be looking to get things back on track with a win again tomorrow. I think they will be too strong, even with it being at House HQ.

Ants v WB - whilst the eventual losing margin was significant last outing for the Ants, the game against the Hoers was alot closer than that suggested until almost half time. They have a developing list and back on home soil will give Westy's a run for their money. That said, WB are a very good side who took MHSOB to task last game and will take another step towards finals action.

MHSOB v Yarra - a significant loss last week for the Unicorns who would have enjoyed the bye to regroup after a couple of loses against quality top 4 teams. They are back at home and will be ready to go and get the season back on their terms. I cant see them dropping this one.

Good luck all, no injuries (or covid out breaks) and lets enjoy some great local footy.

Chump.
