Happy Friday ...........

Brunswick v Hoers - huge game for both sides and another test at the top of the ladder to see how sides are tracking, even though each side still has a few missing tomorrow. Brunswick at home will be very difficult to beat and should have won by A LOT more in their last outing. I think this sees them as the slight favorites and they will square the ledger at 1 win each for season 2022 v the Hoers.

OP's v Cobras - heartbreaking loss last week for the Cobras and now they follow up with a trip to the Garvey where the Raiders are looking for another 4 points to keep their finals aspirations alive. VERY hard to beat at home are the Mappas Mob and I see them winning this one comfortably.

House v Aquinas - The House enjoyed a great win last week away and now line up for two in a row v the men from Ringwood. Aquinas will be very disappointed in falling away so badly late in their game against Brunswick and will be looking to get things back on track with a win again tomorrow. I think they will be too strong, even with it being at House HQ.

Ants v WB - whilst the eventual losing margin was significant last outing for the Ants, the game against the Hoers was alot closer than that suggested until almost half time. They have a developing list and back on home soil will give Westy's a run for their money. That said, WB are a very good side who took MHSOB to task last game and will take another step towards finals action.

MHSOB v Yarra - a significant loss last week for the Unicorns who would have enjoyed the bye to regroup after a couple of loses against quality top 4 teams. They are back at home and will be ready to go and get the season back on their terms. I cant see them dropping this one.

Good luck all, no injuries (or covid out breaks) and lets enjoy some great local footy.

Chump.
Clumpy Chump, ye of little faith!

My winners

Ivanhoe to defeat Brunswick

West Brunswick easy Over BT, sorry Chivs on your 10 year reunion!

Melb High to bounce back over Yarra

Parade to strong for Cobras

I'm thinking with Irish festival over the House to make it 2 in a row over Aquinas. Pav, have you left the sprinkler on in the middle?

Have you found that lid yet Chump? Biggest certainties since Neil Armstrong on his first night home, so the “one week at a time” no longer applies.
A dominant performance without Chad Jones sounds alarm bells for the rest of the competition

Changed pre game Brainy as the boys were not happy with me on Friday night - all good mate. 👍

Mappa - your keen interest in us is always something I look forward too if we get a win. Thank you for not letting me down again tonight. 😂

We got out to a lead early and then even 3 quarters after that. They had 5 or so missing from their best 22. They are a very good team and will be right there come finals time. Talk of certainties is absolute rubbish..... but we are well in the mix.

We played well and got the result we needed with a couple missing also. So I'll take it 👍

Saw Parade had a huge win Mappa. Deflecting attention from yourselves as a big contender?

You blokes normally have the wood on us too.

Due respect to Manningham, and they battles manfully today, they aren't Brunswick. The Hoes nearly beat them by twice as much as us.

We'll keep plugging away and see where it takes us. We have Brunswick next week at the Garvey, so should be an interesting one.

Jonesy won't be pulling boots on this year Mappa! Or so I'm told by his good mate in the twos! Imagine him lining up at ff in the magoos?

Here we go again........

Yarra V House - Yarra has been playing well recently and at home should win this over an improved House.

OP's v Brunswick - Mappas Mob have been going well also and this will be a great test for them this week as they keep pushing for a final 4 spot. Brunswick get a few back to strengthen them up and will be looking to firm up their chances for a atop two finish. I think the forwards Christensen, Paevere, Pollock and Wilson might be a handful for the Raiders backline and do enough to kick a winning score.

Ivanhoe V MHSOB - several changes for each team since they last met and the Unicorns got the points. Massive game for both teams as Ivanhoe try and get a solid grip on a top two finish and MHSOB look to put a space between them and OP's and Aquinas for a top 4 finish. Hoes in some good form, but this will be close. Hoes just.

Cobras v Bulleen Templestowe should be a cracking game and one that both will consider themselves a very good chance of winning. I think the Ants will have too much firepower over the Cobras and do enough to get the points tomorrow.

West Brunswick V Aquinas - the men from Ringwood got the points last time and shocked many tipsters earlier on in the year. That said, WB playing some VERY good footy at the moment and will not lose this at home.

As it pains me to say I must concur to chumpy champ and pick all same winners as he does!

Yarra
Ivanhoe
North Old Boys
West Brunswick
Bull temp

Powerhouse to continue their improvement in form led by a strong midfield, and turn the tables on the relegation battle

Brunswick to be too physical for a young Parade side

Ivanhoe to do it easily over a MHSOB side seemingly in free-fall, to keep the top 4 battle interesting

BT to respond with a win against Manningham

WB to square the ledger with Aquinas

The lids off Mappa. Parade unstoppable.
Ha ha good one mate. I’ll pay that 👍👍

Terrific effort after giving up a big lead to fight back over a quality opposition.

Sets up a huge round of footy next week with every clash important in the context of the year.

Must be pleased with your mob today Chump, and how’s Yarra Valley. Massive score !!

Not sure about Chump. But I was given our outs. But I also realize Melbourne High had several key players missing.

Come on know Mappa - massive win and puts the Raiders right in the mix as much as anyone. Let's not get shy now the focus turns to the men at Garvey. There is no more 'nice to play some kids' or 'the police are looking for .....stole a game'. Expectations have now been recalculated and anything short of final four finish is a complete and utter failure 😊😜😀

As for us - that may have been our best win for the year. Challenged strongly buy a team that beat us last time we met, especially in the 3rd when they had the breeze. If not for some inaccuracy from them we could have been 5 majors behind. We regrouped and finished the game strong for a great win. We had 6 changes from last week and lost two more early, so very, very happy to get that result.

Very similar to us. Got the jump with the first four goals of the match and held them off until half time. After the break they kicked 5 goals to 1 in the third, and with about 10 minutes to go led by 7 points. We found something deep and kicked two late ones, including a long rang bomb from an U19. The ball was in their forwardline for what seemed like an eternity as the time ticked down and that was that.

Still not getting anywhere near ahead of ourselves Chump. We don't have the luxury of stars from the VFL, or A Grade clubs like St Bernards, or blokes from the bush. What we lack in that regard though the lads more than make for in grit and determination. We were down and out against Melbourne High, and Bulleen-Temp and again today, but found a way. The grit and determination was typified by our ruckman who popped his shoulder out and was escorted from the field. Another player, who's a physio, put it back in, he strapped it up and he carried on. I'm sure that lifted all his teammates. Sometimes it's the little things.

Brunswick should definitely be there when the whips are cracking. They're a quality team.

Oh Mappa - LOL. I think you (and the D2 scribe) may need to do some more homework if that's your assessment/understanding of our list.

Well played today to the Raiders and this season still very much across several teams.... IMHO

Cheers Chump

Tough week for the House, reserve game called off due to insufficient numbers. Covid + 1's players resulted in 10 plus changes and meant the 2's had to step up. The boys that did play accounted themselves very well considering the circumstances.

Onto next week as the club looks to match the improved results the club has shown of late.
