Ivanhoe in close tussle over Parade
West Brunswick d yarra
The House at home. (no 2s this week Pav?)
Melb High def Bull Temp and hopefully Chivs can get a team together for 2s

Chumpy, do you need a lift from your humble abode at Hoe Park to Garvey for a free snag? Must have frost bite in the dugout at hoe park!

Thanks for the offer BT, but it could be a bit suspect if I turn up with you and then get 8 free kicks in the twos!! Looking forward to having a kick against a VERY inform Parade Reserves outfit. That said, I'm moving pretty well at the moment so could test them out! LOL.

As for the frost bite, all good. we had a heap of heat beads left over from the spit at Ivanhoe last week and the committee gave me a 44 gallon drum loaded up next to the Rose bush end of Hoe Park to keep warm. No other place I would rather be!

The bye for the Collingwood VFL team has fallen on just the right weekend for the OPs. No doubt all players and coaches associated will take the opportunity to have the week off to stay fresh for rest of the 2022 😄😄

Looking forward to welcoming the black and white juggernaut out to the Garvey Champ. Hoping for a good game and not too many standout performances from these guns who just happened to be walking past Ivanhoe Park and wanted a kick with their mates 😁😁

We'll have the BBQ fired up, so come and grab a snag.
My o My have you seen Ivanhoe team list on VAFA! Drake, Viv, Selwood, Close, Svarc, Schultz, Chump all in. Not sure who Chump is in real life, therefore will keep an eye out for him in the 2s

Who should I be on look out for? Bloke with little no no teeth or most abusive towards umpire!

Chump the best of the lot - very unlucky to be in the twos this week, but coming back from a bit of a spell and need some match fitness I would suggest.

That said, good to get some more players back this week, but still several more to come for what I would suggest is our 'best side' (on paper). Both teams will field very different sides from rd 1 and have had 4 months to understand their respective coaches game styles. So will be a very big game for both clubs as they continue their improvement and push towards finals action.

here's hoping there isn't a mass amount of forfeits again.....

Ressies ladder via predictor will be tight if that's the case

Hoes impressive after half time. Of course we're nearly at full strength. Parade were right in the game in the first half and applied strong pressure and were a bit stiff losing Nolan in the third.
I think we saw the clear premiership favourites today. With a team containing all that talent, I can’t see anyone getting near Ivanhoe. Tall-timber to burn. Classy on-ballers. Efficient ball use and a gameplan that is clearly AFL standard.

I hated the result, but as someone who loves footy I couldn’t help but admire the skills on show. There’s an abundance of riches there, and they’re only “nearly” at full strength.

I thought our opening half was really good. Obviously gave the Ivanhoe brains trust something to ponder. Despite being soundly beaten, I also couldnt fault our endeavour all game.
Endeavour is really taxing though, and if you don’t get scores on the board it ends up biting you on the arse. When you have Close up there, swapping with 39, and throw Drake in there, you’re not losing many games. Our “key forward” wasn’t even 6 foot tall! Losing Nolan and our ruckman didn’t help our cause.

Time to dust off and head to Bulleen who are a tricky prospect at home.

Happy to win at Garvey Mappa. An absolute Arm wrestle until a very good 3/4 from us. Nolan is a star and a big loss after half time. Happy to get the 4 points and move forward.

And the Bullants looked very stiff to lose at Melbourne High. Paradians too good of a team to lose 2 in a row.

Great to see the House back on the winners list, a long time between drinks and takes them off the bottom.

Is it 1 or 2 down this season in Div 2?, they might be able to sneak one more win and bypass Yarra.
% might be the dealbreaker if the house do take another scalp, yarra v bulleen looming as a big one for this reason albeit a fortnight out.

Powerhouse Pres to the fore!!!

Heard from a very reliable source from Cobras that the Powerhouse pres dropped a slab of beer into Cobras ressies rooms to say a big thank you for Cobras hard work in getting their twos onto the park.

Wonder if this made Anna's top 5 on twitter!

That one sentence/gesture alone epitomises Pav. Those that have had dealings with him over the years would know this is exactly the type of guy that he is. Loves Powerhouse and most of all just loves to see guys having a kick of the footy, regardless of the result!

Agree. Great people The Pavs. It is characters like them that make local footy great.

Hey Chump, intro yourself to Pav and he might provide a feed for you in your humpy down there at Hoe Park

Winners & Losers this week.
Dont think I will catch the homeless one!!

Ivanhoe too good for the House
Parade to bounce back at Bulleen (but be wary of the bullant early)
Melb High just over gallant Aquinas - Melb High too much at stake
Brunswick too good for Yarra. Hope Pagan can get a win b4 end of the year
West Brun at home over Cobras

Here we go for round 15 .....

Brunswick v Yarra - the Wickers look to be running back into some form after a very good win over Aquinas last week. The forward line of Paevere, Wilson, Christensen, Pollock and Naughton are as potent as any in the competition when they get going and I believe they will be to strong in this contest at home.

West Brunswick v Cobras - the men from West have been going about their business a little under the radar for mind and are a serious football club. Since round 5 they have only lost to Brunswick (after the siren) so when we talk about winning streaks - they were only 30 seconds off a 10 game run themselves. Add to that their Reserves have belted everyone and are flag favs. At home they are even more formidable and I expect them to win very, very well this week and continue a great season thus far.

Aquinas v MHSOB - match of the round as the Unicorns need to win to stay in the race for a finals spot. That said, the men from Ringwood are hard to beat at home, especially this time of year, and so this will be a close battle. Goals are precious at any time, but when conditions are tough like they can be on the school ground they become crucial. With this in mind, I'd throw Aver forward and WIN the game, not just try and defend it. I think an injury depleted Unicorns, just, but an upset would not surprise.

Ivanhoe v House - The house will be up and about after last weeks result and will be ready to test us again at Hoe Park. It's been a challenging week for us with several changes (covid, unavailability, injury) after a very good win over the inform Raiders last week. I think at home we can still get the points and continue to build on our 2022 season.

BT v Mappas Mob - the Ants pushed the Unicorns all the way last week and nearly pulled off the upset of the round. They will be encouraged by that performance and happy to be back on Ajani for this one. The Raiders came from behind to snatch a win last time these sides met and they play a very similar style of game - hard at it and contested. The Raiders have been in stellar form since they last met apart from last weeks second half and will bounce back to get the 4 points this week.

Good luck all, no injuries and enjoy the day.

Chump.
