#freekickAq… Nah. Won’t go there. What a win ! COVID ran through the place like Jonah Lomu this week, but what heart we showed.
Such an important win in the context of the season.

OP v House - The Raiders will be far to strong at the Garvey for the House as they look to push towards a top 4 position at the half way mark of season 2022.

Hoes v Aquinas - very tight game expected with Aquinas having played some good footy this year and the Hoes still a few short. Last year in our one meeting it was tight for most of the game and we expect another tough one tomorrow. Hoers just (hopefully).

West B v Brunswick ...... at West - what a cracking game this should be. If i wasn't waving flags or cutting up oranges at Hoe Park I'd be in the car to watch this one. I think Brunswick are a travelling touch better at this stage, but West play their home ground very, very well. Flip .....Brunswick win.

Bulleen v Yarra - Yarra were good last week against us and had a few things gone their way they may have been alot closer in the end. That said, the Ants have been much improved this year and are building a good team mixed of good youth with some quality experience. I expect they will get the job done at home and continue their improved year.

MHSOB v Manningham - The Unicorns will be looking to hand out another heavy defeat to the Cobras who have really struggled to get things going so far this year. MHSOB are ruthless when they get on a roll and at home I would expect it to be another big win for them come siren time at the end of the game.

Have a great weekend all, no injuries.

I might mosey on down to Hoe Park Chump and ask goalie what his big footy name is?

I'm same as Chump except yarra to roll Bulleen.

OP d Powerhouse (hope Pav is coping ok)
Ivanhoe d Aquinas
Brunswick d West Brunswick
YV d BT
MHSOB D Cobras

Good game of footy at Ivanhoe between two evenly matched teams today. Very happy to get the 4 points and take another step forward.

I was down at hoe park and asked the goalie what his big footy handle is? He said, go and ask the bloke cutting the oranges!

Round 8 already and fast approaching the half way mark of season 2022 and some cracking games lined up this week.

Aquinas v Yarra - we had a good look at both these sides in the past consecutive weeks and whilst player availability looks to be fluctuating wildly for all teams at the moment, I thought Aquinas looked the better of the 2 when we faced them. Add a home ground advantage and a must win game for the boys from Ringwood to stay in finals contention and I think they get the job done.

OP's v Bulleen - this will be a cracker - IMO. The results suggest two evenly matched teams and both have played some good footy this year. I'm having a difficult time getting a good read on Mappa's Mob as they have had some great results mixed in with ones they would like back. The Ants have shown through the first 7 rounds they have improved on their 2021 season and will be hungry to add a big scalp to take the next step in their development. This is a flip of the coin for me, but the Raiders at home for mind.

Cobras v Ivanhoe - whilst the start to this season has not been where the Cobras would have wanted to be after a solid first year in D2 last year, this is not as predictable as some may imagine. The Cobras had our measure last year and really should have won both games with an after the siren miss the only thing giving us the win at home. That said, our list is maturing and if we want to stay in the hunt for finals action, these games are a must win. Hoes to get it done in Bulleen this Saturday.

Power House v West B - heart breaker for Westy's last week with an after siren loss to their local rivals. That said, it shows they are well and truly in the mix this season with the other top teams and I would suggest that this week they will look to flex some muscle and bounce back with a solid win. The house are not where they hoped they would be at this point in time, but always have a crack, especially at home. West B too strong in this one though.

MHSOB v Brunswick - so the guys from Brunswick play in back to back 'games of the round', this week taking on the Unicorns who were awesome last week. This will be a rippa and see who is the mid-season flag favorites as the two stand outs so far slug it out. Great match ups all over the place, with MHSOB slightly stronger in the mids (IMO), yet can the Unicorns defenders hold the powerful and heavy scoring Brunswick forward line? This will be a great game of footy to watch if the rain stays away and its played in good conditions. I'm going Unicorns only because its at their home ground and would not be surprised by a win the other way.

Have a great weekend of footy all, no injuries.

As always, spoken like a true politician! Maybe your calling since you are unemployed and the greens need you!

Aquinas overeasy Yarra
Hoes over Cobras
OPS too strong for Bullants - (sorry Jack)
Brunswick just over MHSOBs
