That's pretty funny mate 'recent winning streak'
9 on the trot - one loss waaaaay back in R2 :think::think:
Ok that's fair enough .... 'recent' was most likely an incorrect explanation in relation to our 'current' winning streak. Whatever it is, I hope it can continue for another 8 weeks or so 😊

Looking at VAFA website in the ressies, there is no scores in 3 games. Does that mean Powerhouse, Manningham & B/Temp forfeited their games?

It's a REALLY challenging situation right now, especially with the extra difficulties developing via Covid isolation protocols.

I was talking to our President on Saturday night and he said that our club had worked with Yarra OG and the VAFA to 'permit' 4 of our Reserves players across to them so we could make sure that they had enough players so as not to forfeit. The key thing both clubs wanted was for people not to miss out on a game of footy and further fuel any drop off in participation. Great effort from both clubs and the players involved if you ask me.

hey Chumpy, your president is a great bloke for doing that!
Spoilt for choice this week which is a testament to your presidents hard work!

Great proactive approach - Also happened earlier in the year with powerhouse and West Brunswick, both sides agreed on the Friday night to play 16 a side and flat 20 minute quarters to allow for a game to be played.

Yes, all 3 teams could not field sides.

This is becoming a serious issue not just for the clubs involved but the VAFA as a competition.

Whatever stops the President from trying to play BT is a good outcome I would suggest :)

Here's hoping the remaining fixtures & teams do this, august being the peak of covid.

Next few weeks are going to be very very challenging.
Three or four teams in reserves playing for 3rd and 4th spot. Not just challenging but also messy as % could decide who plays finals

Been watching IVANHOE for around a few weeks now clearly a few to many stars with Close Viv and Drake. Though the last 2 weeks Number 10 seems to be the fix it man. Best on in when playing middle, then went back last week with another best on performance. Real underated player for ivanhoe. Where has he come from??

if you do auto predict for rest of the year MHSOB, Aquinas and Ivanhoe will all finish on 40 points (providing no upsets, I truly don't see any occurring) if it's because of teams forfeiting and you're from the above club you will be filthyyyyyyy

Just a local Chamo who came down because his mates are playing. Decent basketballer I believe.

Busy, busy .....

Brunswick v Aquinas - The wicks to win and finish any faint hopes the men from Ringwood have of finals activity in season 2022.
Yarra v West B - West too strong and will keep in the race for a top two finish.
Mappas Mob v Hoers - HUGE game for both clubs. If the Hoers win - top two assured. If OP's win and they are right in the mix for a top two finish. The Garvey Graveyard has claimed many victims this year and the Hoers have won just once there in 35 years .... I hope we can make it twice this Saturday🤞
House v Cobras - equally as important for both in relation to relegation at seasons end. House at home I would suggest.
MHSOB v Ants - Unicorns still looking for a way back into the top four and finals action. Will be too strong for the Ants this weekend.

Good luck all - have a great weekend of footy.

The bye for the Collingwood VFL team has fallen on just the right weekend for the OPs. No doubt all players and coaches associated will take the opportunity to have the week off to stay fresh for rest of the 2022 😄😄

Looking forward to welcoming the black and white juggernaut out to the Garvey Champ. Hoping for a good game and not too many standout performances from these guns who just happened to be walking past Ivanhoe Park and wanted a kick with their mates 😁😁

We'll have the BBQ fired up, so come and grab a snag.

Yes, they are heading to the snow for the weekend and wont be playing so I am told. But my information is very poor, so maybe just consult Dion Ciavola for the latest information ;) (was good to see him last weekend).

We will be happy just to get the 4 points from Whitchers Warriors on the weekend Mappa, no one has found a way yet at the Garvey.

Do you put your onions on the top of the snag or below it? Asking for a friend! Nom nom.

We are very hospitable at the Garvey mate. We will serve them however you like 👍

Chumpy, do you need a lift from your humble abode at Hoe Park to Garvey for a free snag? Must have frost bite in the dugout at hoe park!
