GY, you might not be far off. Word is the VAFA investigator has recommended a closed venue for these games!!!
My mate Canvass might have conniptions.....and blame Raiti for it as a matter of course.
No conniptions from me!
On the other heard, news coming out a few have headed down to Surrey Park for $$$, Peet to work on his golf game and Meehan to spend time with the family?
Edit: Something must be going wrong at Rathmines, even the runner has left

Tips for the week:
  • Whitefrairs
  • Wattle Park
  • SMD
  • MHSOB
  • NOBS

The mighty Nobs with a huge win to kick off a famous 18-0 season. Watch for FB Tahj Haddock to show a dominant display throughout the campaign.

Hopefully not a sign of what's to come this season, no close games to speak of.

MHSOB (going by the tips) the most disappointing team of the weekend.

Anyone got any write ups on how your team went or games you watched?

6.17 vs 10.7 says it all. And as far as no close games, there was only really one blowout in SMD smashing BT, which pretty much everyone expected.

Sounds like the Friars got away with one there, even luckier considering they had one player kick 6 of the 10 goals. Can't rely on that every week.

Agree re. close games. Looks like Elsternwick should have been closer to Brunswick. Expect it would have been a tightly contested game.

As the score suggests SMD looked good against BT. Their defence very stingy allowing 1 goal in the second half. Missed a few easy shots on goal but that is to be expected in round 1. Will always take a 9 goal win.

Big suprise with Wattle Park, not many expected them to take charge coming up from Division 3. Great performance by them, clearly the Marmalade effect is paying dividends. Don't know if it said more about Wattle Park or Aquinas that game.

Getting in early with tips for this week

Watched Wicks v Brunswick.
Would say Wicks dominated field position for 60%+ of the game just either dropped marks, missed targets or missed a shot on goal.

Brunswick started with a man behind the ball from the first bounce. And their game plan was to use him on the way out. Thought wicks stopped their ball movement in the second half, Brunswick were just more clean and had the ball bounce their way all day

NOBS to take care of Hawthorn. Can’t see the citz style of high scoring football working against the Brunswick defence.

SMD over MHSOB. These two had a couple of close games last season. Losing the skipper / best player too damaging for MH.

Elsternwick to knock off SMS. Could be a close one. Depends if Wicks best players turn up for the day.

WF account for Aquinas. Easily.

Wattle Park over BT. BT don’t have the key position players needed to win games.
