Junction to sneak a hard fought away win. Although, surely Alex can't be as bad as last week at home. 20 pts
Lakers to take what could be the closest game in the round - 20 points
Belgrave - should get over the line with some discipline. 25ish
Seville - Are going to be all over Thornton, 70+
Yarra Glen - Score last week flattered Yea extremely. YG to do it comfortably (40 odd points away from home)

Alex v Junction - YJ in a close one
emerald V Kinglake - Kinglake will bounce back
Powelly v Belgrave - Belgrave in a canter
Sev v Boners - Wont tip against seville on the chip

I would love you to justify that XIV. In such a high scoring game were Belgrave kicked a couple of goals late in the fourth and got up by 23 points, not sure how Yea would be flattered losing by that amount??

Belgrave gave 4 or 5 goals from poor discipline (50 metre penalties and down-field free kicks) and another 3 or 4 from stupid free-kicks in the arc. Call the second category poor defensive technique but a disciplined side doesn't give those easy opportunities. Got away with it at home but something to be considered.
Yea will win games at home this year but I'm not sure if I can see your boys making any significant impact away from the "Tiger's Den", or the "YCG" or Yea Community Sporting Complex or whatever.

RD 3

Kinglake vs Powelltown Kinglake by 51 points Kinglake should win comfortably to much experince on home turf

Belgrave vs Seville Seville by 28 points Should be a good game for 3 quarters but Seville's talls will be the diffrence

Thornton vs Yarra Junction Thornton

Yarra Glen vs Emerald Yarra Glen by 23 points Yarra Glen should win fairly easily but dont be suprised about the Bombers superior fitness

Round 3 tips;

Kinglake over the Demons.
Seville over Belgrave in the game of the round.
Thornton Eildon just over Yarra Junction: home ground advantage favors the Boners.
Yarra Glen over Emerald in a high scoring clash.
Alexandra over Yea in the local derby.

Are we still awaiting the result from Kinglake v Powelly ?
I believe a count was called during the 3rd qtr which saw The Lakers with 19 on the ground ?
I think the rules have changed now.
Whereby the score of the offending team was zeroed immediately, it is now left as it is and the result is referred to the league for determining.
I like the old rule, if you have 19 on the ground, bad luck !

TeeS - haven't heard anything about counts up in the hills but you're correct in describing the rule change. If a team is found to have too many, score is noted at the time and referred to the league for them to deliberate during the week.

Here's a bit of a background on the situation as i saw it. A Kinglake player was yellow carded in the Powelly forwardline at about the 20 minute mark of the 3rd. As the player who received the card ran off the ground a second Kinglake player was being interchanged. Apparently, the boys on the bench weren't aware of the card and sent on two players for the two leaving the field of play. Thereby having 18 v 18 when it should have been 17 v 18. The 18th man barely made it 40 meters on to the ground before the Kinglake bench realised what had happened and called the player back. Before he could get off the ground, a head count was called and the game was stopped. The head count showed that Kinglake had 18 on the ground. In the meantime, between the yellow card being given and the head count being called, the ball was in Powelly's half of the ground the entire time. Clearly there was a stuff up and the boys had one too many on the ground for a brief period of time, but that player had no influence on the play during this time.

I also thought the old rule was still in place and agree that if you've got too many, bad luck. I believe the incident has been referred to a league hearing on Wednesday night.

Sidenote: I'm pretty sure the Lakers exceeded Powelly's full time score in the period of play from the time the headcount was called until the final siren.:thumbsu:

Emerald over Yea at home.
Yarra Glen over Powelltown away.
Seville to just knock off Kinglake at home.
Thornton to get over the line at home v Alex.
Belgrave to sneak an away win v Junction.

Emerald vs Yea Emerald by 47 points Emerald with the home ground advantage will run the tigers out fit off their legs

Powelltown vs Yarra Glen Yarra Glen by 52 points Yarra Glen will control the game but dont be suprised if the margin is a lot closer

Seville vs Kinglake Kinglake by 5 points This will be a thriller but kinglake should win but i am 50/50 with seville home ground advantage

Thornton vs Alexandra Thornton Local derby great match

Yarra Junction vs Belgrave Yarra Junction by 25 points should be a very good match

Good luck in a good weekend in footy :thumbsu:
